a symbol in the book becoming Naomi Leon is her elephant soap carvings. I know because Naomi set the elephants up as a family that she wanted. Also she toke them out of the drawer at night when nobody was looking. I think that the symbol is that she wished that her family would change.
ReplyDeletethe main problem in the story is that I think Skyla is planing on only taking Naomi because she has been buying Naomi clothes and she always tells Owen that she will buy him clothes next time but she never does. Also she is being nice to Naomi and not to Owen.
ReplyDeleteI think the main problem is Skyla will do something against the law. My evidence is Skyla changed her name, her look and drags her clothes in a trash bag and said "I need some place to stay awhile."
ReplyDeleteIn becoming Naomi Leon the main problem in the story is the mother came back. I know this because in the text it said Skyla had problems getting there and I think she is a outlaw. Also Naomi has trouble adjusting to the fact that her mother left her and then came back.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem in naomi león is that naomi's mother skyla came back after abandoning naomi and owen she came back and said "i need a place to hang out" that makes me think that she's a outlaw because she changed her name to skyla when her real name is terri Lynn and changed her hair and hold her clothes in a trash bag. That makes me think of her a outlaw because she could of dressed as her self but she didn't so that's why I think skyla is the main problem.

I think that because when Skyla come to Naomi trailer she just showed up after seven years of leaving her kids and was talking very rude to Gram saying ''what have done to this boy'' about Owen. So when Skyla came every one thought she was going to take Naomi and Owen. I also think she like Naomi more then Owen because Skyla bought Naomi stuff and not Owen and thats a problem

Skyla came in the trailer and she was really rude two gram and the next day Skyla came and he bought Nyomi some clothes and she forgot about Owen and I think Skyla just wants to go to a place so she won't be lonely and he has a new boyfriend and his name is Cliff and he's trying to change Skyla and I think Cliff is the one who started all of this cuz he's the one who told Skyla to change her name and I think Terri Lynn is a beautiful name and Skyla changed her attitude when her parents died in a crash I get it that's really sad but you don't have to change who you are and I think that was the authors message
ReplyDeleteWhen niomi was 4 years old her mom left her in a motel for days and and her mom Skyla finally showed up and after that day Naomi was traumatized so traumatized that she couldn't even speak well she speak but he chose not to and if I want to hear me I would be crying hysterical because I would be so sad that my mom believe me in the motel go back to Naomi and her dad is in Mexico I don't really think he ever saw him I seen my dad before enough about my life but Naomi was getting picked on by three boys and they were making fun of her clothing and her last name and they would say they were believe me in a motel but back tonight me and your dad is in Mexico I don't really think he ever saw him I seen my dad before and I forgot my life and Naomi was getting picked on bye three boys and they were making fun of Naomi's name they wouldn't think of her as Naomi Soledad Leon outlaw they would think of her as the weird kids sister and I think that's pretty mean but when Skyla gave Naomi a French braid and new clothes all the girls or jealous and all the boys said Naomi has new clothes and Naomi made a new friend and her new friend's name was Blanca Blanca was a transfer student and Naomi was happy to make a new friend and Blanca very funny and Naomi said my brother is pretty weird but Blanca said you should meet my cousin Blanca also has a uncle named Soledad
ReplyDeleteThe main problem in the story "Becoming Naomi Leon" is Skyla. I know this because in the text we see that Skyla left Naomi and Owen in a hotel room for many days without any food or water. Plus, Skyla also came back after seven years thinking that Naomi and Owen would recognise her and was being rude to Gram and also said "Well, aren't you going to let me in?".
ReplyDeleteI think the main problem in Becoming Naomi Leon is Skyla. When Skyla first got home Gram was not happy about Skyla coming home because she abandoned Naomi and Owen instead of taking care of them like a mom would do and because Skyla was kinda judging Owen's disability.

The main problem in the story becoming Naomi Leon is her mother Skyla is irresponsible. I know this because in the text Skyla lift Owen and Naomi in a motel room for seven days without food or water. Also, she gave Owen and Naomi to Gram because she couldn’t take care of her two kids.

ReplyDeleteThe author's message in Becoming Naomi Leon is don’t judge a person on how they look judge a person on their personality. I know this because Naomi’s little brother Owen has a deformed face and he talks like a toad. He also walks like a horse. You wouldn’t think based on his looks that he is very smart but Owen is very bright and in fact the smartest kid in his class. Also Naomi’s appearance is less then striking. Naomi’s clothes don’t look very nice and Naomi’s hair is always messy. But beyond appearance Naomi is really nice and cares about other people's’ feelings. On the surface Naomi makes a poor impression, but to look beyond that is to know a true friend.
ReplyDeleteIn the story Becoming Naomi Leon, Naomi thinks everything will be ok because she has the carvings of the elephants and those are her memories that keep her positive. The elephants are a symbol of her family. She carves them out of soap when she is relaxed and keeps them in her drawer under her bed. Naomi pretends the elephants are her family because she doesn’t really know her family well. The elephants remind her of when she was younger with her own family and make her feel safe
ReplyDeleteThe main problem in the Becoming Naomi Leon is that Skyla/Terri-Lynn wants to take away Naomi.But Skyla/Terri-Lynn is not fit to be a mother. I know this because Skyla is a alcoholic and drinks to much. Also she abandoned Naomi and Owen when Naomi was only 4 and Owen was only 1.
