I learned that in poetry there can be different emotions and be the type of poetry. I also learned that the type of poetry and poetic devices are different. One other thing that I learned about poetry is that there are different types of the same thing. One example is that there are different types of rhyming poetry.
What I have learned about poetry so far in the year is that poetry isn’t just a bunch of rhyming words but also is a pattern in the words and relies on rhythm, not rhyme. Rhyme is optional. The types of poems I have learned are haiku, color poem,Imagery, Tanka, and couplet. Some poetic devices I have used in my poems are near rhyme, rhyme scheme, internal rhyme, pattern, exaggeration, and metaphor. Here is a poem I have written: 3:30 The window open, chatter from the living room. No lights on, just the sun. Cars driving furiously through the streets. Following the city’s afternoon beat.
The poetic devices I used in this poem are rhyme and rhythm. The type of poem is imagery. -JOSH:)
This year I have learned so many poems. From haiku to rhyme from riddle to all about me. I have also learned that poem-making takes a lot of practice. Here is my poem.
I walk down into the subway I feel a light breeze I hear the click clack I see some lights From Bergen Street to Far Rockaway from Dimartas avenue to Stineway street, there is always a new place to discover Bye, and good night I say.
In this poem, I used alliteration by starting with I for the majority of the poem. Also, I used imagery because when I wrote this poem, I was thinking of the subway. I also used point of view because this was the poems characters point of view
What I learned about poetry is that it doesn't need to rhyme and you can do a lot of poetic devises in one poem also I learned that everybody can be a good poet. The poetice divises I use is personification speacker metaphor and more one of the poems I like is called chocolate.
Chocolate sweet as I could ever imagine It makes me beg till death i cannot hold my breath Chocolate how would you not like it would pick over ice cream cake cookies Has a taste in your mouth so good and melty untill you melt and become a melted sweet.
What i have learned about poetry is that not all poems rhyme because before fourth grade i would only see/ read poems that rhyme. the poetic devices that I am used are rhyming. This is one of my poems: the lucky ducky poem
Some duckys are lucky and some duckys are unlucky like the rubber ducky the luckiest ducky ever. Nothing near the as unlucky as the clucky ducky the most unlucky ducky ever wishing they were the rubber ducky or a chicken or anything not the clucky ducky. I did a rhyming poem and The poetic devices in there was rhyming and pattern.
What I have learned about poetry is that it can be about many things - color or emotion. I also learned about personification which is when you give objects qualities. I wrote a poem about my bed using personification.
My Poem: My bed watches me with a tender eye He watches me far and wide when I climb into my bed I lay down into the softness My bed stretches its long long arms and gives me a very soft hug Then bends down and gives me a kiss on my cheek that is how I can go to sleep
So far this year in poetry I learned what Tanka poems are. I also learned how to make an exaggeration poem. This is one of my poems called anger in joy, Anger is the color of a bloody nose, It happens when your pencil brakes in the middle of a test. It sounds like a crash. It smells like hot sauce tearing your eye. Anger
what I learned about poetry so far is that poems are not something you just write quickly and your done you have to work hard on it.the poetic devices I use is usually rhythm and exaggeration sometimes rhymes. sharks are talented hunting for food all the time. this is a haiku. the poetic devices I used in this poem is rhythm and exaggeration .
What I learned that poems can be anything from your imagination. I also learned poetic devices such as rhyme scheme and near rhyme.(I chose this because I don't have any ideas.) Here's my poem about basketball is boring:
Basketball is boring Just a hoop and a ball Basketball sucks!!!!
This is a (6,4,6) haiku poem It has metaphor words Plus it has its own speaker. So that's what I've learned in poetry.
What I learned so far about poems is that all poems don't have to rhyme. There could be a lot of other poems like narrative poems, or rittles and other stuff so this is my poem called sub???
SUB??? You find me underground I am a train I have 4 wheels, and 3 doors on each side I could go outside sometimes What am I, A SUBWAY Type of poem: rittle Devices: speaker point of view
What I learned about poetry is that poetry can be anything that you want to do about. I also learned about poetry is that there is different types of poetry like color poem and haiku poem. The poetic device that I used on most of my poetry is imagery because I tell the story instead of the poem telling the story. My poem is... Angry Is a color of a hot red peper It happens when someone says something mean to me It sounds like a car screeching to a hat It smells like a burning toast
bright sun light moon light star light car light star bright make everything bright
I learned that poetry does not have to rhyme and there are all kinds of poems. I didn't know there were haikus, personification poems and so on.
The poetic devices I've used are personification, couplet, rhyme, and rhythm.
A poem that I want to share is a personification poem. It's called Lunchbox:
It ate up all my food It went to work at noon It started typing essays It watched TV on Sundays It dropped its kids off on weekdays And now it's done for the day
I wrote a personification poem with couplets, rhyme and rhythm.
I learned how to do poetry by using these poetic deivices Simile
Ryhme
And nartive poetry
(haiku is my favorite type of poetry) I like rhyme because u can make u things for example (It makes no sense at all) “kayak smacks racks sack and rack packs a track to attack zack.Zack races poker faces and looses a wild goose chase.while grace plays outer space. See I told u it made no sense. Simile means that u compare something with the word like and as.Naritive poetry is a form of poetry telling a story often making voices of a narrator as well
I have learned a lot of things about poetry so far. I have learned that poems don't have to rhyme. Also there are a lot of different kinds of poems. The last thing I have learned is that poems can be about anything. I have used a lot of poetic devise in my poems. I have used rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, metaphor , narrative, personification, and smile.
The clouds in the sky rumble and grumble. Not very happy at this moment of time. Looking down and never looking up. The clouds in the sky have tears in their eyes. Crying hard are the clouds in the sky. Tears poring from their eyes, After they're sad they're happy again, disappearing from the sky. They come again and are happy for a while, and they become sad again.
The poetic devices I used in this poem are rhyme , rhythm, and personification.
I’ve learned that poetry has a lot of poetic devices like personification and rhyme scheme. I also learned that there are many different types of poetry like haiku’s and emotion poems.

I have learned many things in poetry but the things that stood out most are that poems don't have to rhyme and how to use poetic devices.
I have used rhyme, simile, unamoapia, metaphor, point of view and many others, in my poetry.
Here is a rhyming poem: The lucky ducky chucky go mucky on an unlucky Kentucky day.
The above poem uses rhyming mostly.
Another poem goes like this: A form of beauty, what flowers happen to be. All colors and smells you find deep within. Blue, red, white and many others, are some colors you will find.

One of the poems is an Exaggeration poem. I had the world's worst pizza. It tasted like it came from a trashpit. I thought I was going to die. I tasted it and I fainted. I didn't know if I would make it.
What I have learned about poems is that there are so many ways to do poems. I thought that there were only five ways to do poems. Also I can write poems about anything. I use similes sometimes. Also I use imagery because my imagery goes crazy and I love writing about it.
Happy Yellow as a dandylion. It happens when I smell something super good. It sound like a yell of happiness. It smells like a rose. It smells good and happy. You can use metaphors in your poetry as a poetic device in an emotion poem.
I ate a pickle the size of a nickel. It was really fickle but that beautiful dilly pickle I burped so loud it shook the earth and flipped outside. In that poem I used exaggeration and rhyme. I learned that there is more than just rhyme in poetry. I also learned that there is a poetic devices to use in poetry like rhyme scheme, exaggeration and more.
