Opinion: Should Pokemon Cards Be Allowed in School?

Read the persuasive letter below from third grader Lucas Ayala to his teacher. (Click on the picture to make it larger.) Do you agree or disagree with Lucas that Pokemon cards should be allowed in school? Should any trading cards be allowed in school? Explain why or why not.

    I think bringing pokemon cards or any other cards to school is a distraction and I am sure some kids will try to take it. I will not bring my football cards to school anymore.

    I think bringing Pokémon is bad because kids can rip them and it can drop on the floor and some one can step on the Pokémon and trip and rip at the same time.

    I think you should be able to bring Pokemon Cards to school if you have after school or if you have down time during your day. Trading cards can be distracting during the school day

    I think bringing Pokemon cards is not a good chose
    because probably kids going to steal them and then they going to get in a fight i got Pokemon
    but i don't bringing them to them to scool

    I THINK BRINGING POKEMON CARDS IS NOT GOOD TO bring because it's killing and attacking out and kids could take the Pokemon and you could have a fight and kids could step on the Pokemon and kids could push you and take your pokemon

    I disagree with the idea of bringing pokemon cards to school because what if half of the class does not like pokemon cards that will not be fair and it will distract in math time.

    Lucas came up with a nice idea, but I don't think kids would be focused on doing math because they'd just be playing the game instead of learning math. I don't think Pokemon cards should be allowed in the classroom.

    I disagree because your pokemon cards could get lost or stolen.But if you keep them in your backpack then it's fine

    I disagree that you should bring pokemon cards because they could get lost and ruined and break. Because people can get into a fight and not share.

      Exactly I see pokemon cards get stolen all the time, EVEN IN AFTERSCHOOL. Also it causes so much of a distraction during the day. P.s Thank you for not replying like your talking at recess.

    I think that pokemon cards should not be math center.Because:1 some people might not like it.2 people would not pay atntion to anthing else.3 people will blame people for losing thier cards.I think that cards should not be alowed in school.

    I think that people should not bring Pokemon cards to
    school because they might get lost. The people might not pay attention to the actual math. It will get crazy and people might start fighting and arguing. Thats the same with all the other cards like basketball cards and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards

    I agree with Lucas that Pokemon cards should be brought to school because it teaches math in a good way. I think it should only be used in the classroom at a certain time. I also think that age 7 and older are responsible enough to use Pokemon cards in the right way without losing them or destroying them.

    I think Pokemon cards should not be a math center

    1.If somebody leaves there cards somewhere there could be arguing or fighting.2.The kids could be so excited for the math center they wouldn't pay attention to the other centers.3.Other kids who don't like Pokemon will be bored during math.

    I think people should not bring any type of card to school because kids could leave those cards by accident and other kids could fight back by saying "You left those cards its your fault they got lost!" And get in different fights and stuff like that

    I think there should be a Pokemon math lab because you can Learn math in a fun way but it's your responsibility to make sure no one steals or rips your cards.

    I think that you shouldn't bring Pokemon cards to school. It may get stolen because they are really cool. Children really seem to like Pokemon cards. I know that it involves math but I don't think that you should bring them to school.

    I think that it is not a good idea to bring Pokemon cards to class because people can lose them and fight for them and they could rip them. Also they might pay less attention in class.

    I do not think that kids should be aloud to bring cards because kids might lose them and a kid might fight over them and break them and kids would have the same card as somebody else or steal another kids card or mess it up and they might distract you in school work.

    Well I do not believe Lucas to bring the Pokemon cards so I don't think that Lucas should bring it and other cards to school because they can get stolen or lost.

    I think that Pokemon card do not help with math. Why because kids would fight over it and trading cards are not helping with math either and trading card and Pokemon cards are going to stop kids from learning in school.

    i do no think it is okay because if it gets lost we would take the blame out on someone else. and also it is a distraction towards other kids and it causes problems
