  1. One piece of advice that I would give the next fourth graders is to study because the week goes by fast. I would also say find things that you like in all subjects.
Dear, 2019 fourth graders what I mean by study is that you should work hard and try your best. Also I mean that you should find things that you like in each subject because in fourth grade teachers always ask you so you should know what you like.

  2. Dear Fourth graders, some advice I think would be helpful to you is to study you multiplication tables by yourself and ask your parents questions. This will help you become fluent in math and learn and understand math better. In fourth grade, you have to speak up for yourself or else you might be wrongly accused.Advice in the areas of writing and reading would be to read a lot of books that are in the genre you enjoy most to help you write that genre better(Ex. I like to write poetry so I will read poetry books.). And also to enjoy your time with your friends!

  3. Dear to be 4th graders,
As u may know there’s a lot more work than u think and if u have ms.Scarborough u won’t get much homework just the blog math and vocabulary on Monday’s. 4th graders are the only grade who take the science test and it’s pretty easy if u really pay attention.

  4. Dear 4th graders,

When your in fourth grade, it's not like any other grade. The 6th grade teachers are looking at your work,so in this grade, you have to work hard, but the teachers are here to help, so don't over work yourself , you have to do the science fair. Study all, because in fourth grade ,you have A lot of test to take, and you have to read A lot, and you have a independent writing project to turn in every month but have fun.

  5. So this is to all the third graders out there. I’m just gonna say fourth grade is not easy plus in this grade your report cards determine what middle school your going to. Plus you will learn about decimals. You will be lucky if you have Ms scarborough because she is a really really really really really really nice teacher. You will also take 2 science tests. If you have a good time through out the year it will be short. That’s all I have to say.

  6. Dear fourth graders,

Welcome to 4th grade. Let me teach you about the beloved community.

The beloved community that all works together. The beloved Community works together. Everyone in the beloved community treats each other inclusively. For example, let’s say you’re at the basketball court. Someone wants to play but someone else isn’t letting them play. You should tell the person they can play, because if you don’t let them in your being exclusive which is the opposite of inclusive.

Inclusive means that everyone gets treated fairly.

You should be prepared for everything that fourth grade throws at you. Whether it’s homework school work or a test you should be prepared.

    Cason

    Dear dear 4th graders,
Fourth grade is not a easy year trust me in my opinion it’s one of the hardest years in elementary school the work is mostly all hard so you have to practice a lot of math plus in reading the books are really hard to understand so when you think of a theaory and evidence you have to think really deeply so it’s hard.

  8. dear 4th graders, I thought that 4th grade was fun and hard.If you are reading this you are very lucky to have Ms.S.In my opinion 4th grade was one of most challenging grades I have ever had.I enjoyed reading, the levels get harder as you go up.

  9. Dear fourth graders
I am going to tell you about the beloved community

So the beloved you care for others and love each other you need empathy care for others and stand up for people treat people the way you want to be treated and don't bully people your teacher is going to love so you love them back because they love you.You need to be strong and love everybody and be nice to people even who don't behave good so that is what I am going to tell you must do it.

  10. Dear fourth graders, Though fourth grade is hard, you can have a lot of fun. Definitely study your multiplication tables. You shouldn’t be counting on your fingers. ( though that’s what I did.) In Ms.S’s class we’ll do multiplication tests so always study. At home get better at finding symbols and angels and others in the books you are reading, we do a lot of that in fourth grade. You’ll have to dig a lot deeper in your books.

In fourth grade there are more opportunities for clubs. ( I definitely recommend these.) If Ms.S is still doing the stop motion club I recommend it. They are a really fun way to learn about things you don’t normally learn about in school.

    Dear incoming 4th graders,

Welcome to your new grade people!!! I'm going to tell you about math. We usually learn multiplication and division in September and addition plus subtraction using place value. At the end of the year, we learn fractions and decimals. In reading we have a read aloud in our homeroom. Our teacher gives some of us reading assessments. We write down theories and evidences from the book during read aloud. If you get all the answers right, you skip the next reading level, but if you get some answers wrong, you move on to the reading level next to your current reading level. On Fridays they would usually give out the vocab test and there is no homework. Since I would talk about the beloved community, I would talk about it now. So the beloved community is that you care and love for others and the whole community. What I didn't mean about loving others and the whole community is marrying the whole community and others(That's gross, but you can marry others). You have to treat people the way you wanted to be treated and don't bully anybody. You should also stand up for yourself and love your teacher. In addition, you should be nice, kind and polite to others even people who don't behave that well. Also, this class is challenging so you should be alert for hard stuff and other thing you think challenging. So that's all about our homeroom and our beloved community.

  12. Dear fellow 4th graders,
One thing you really have to in 4th grade is control yourself. If you get a little out of control you can maybe play with your fingers without distracting the other people around you. You will learn a lot about academics [Also you grow a lot in reading comprehension ]. If your into sports I would suggest doing Mr.Matts sports club, if your into dance you can sign up for the dance club with Ms.Caren, and if your into singing you should sign up for chorus witch is with Mr.O. Ms.s is a great teacher and will help you not only with academics but also socially. Have fun in 4th grade I have admit it is a fun year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. I think something that they should know is that it's tougher than 4th grade, and that they need to step up their game. A lot of the kids that act out now , this year get tougher consequences. At the start of the year it was pretty easy and mostly review. When that ends you get to stuff you haven't learned yet, like fractions and decimals. Fractions are difficult at first, but you can get the hang of them pretty soon. Decimals we just started learning and it isn't too hard. For writing, at the start a lot isn't expected and its also mostly the same. Later on in the year you do more complex and deeper things like what genre's you like and you have you do some solo projects. Reading gets way harder and you have to go deeper into understanding and you will have to re-do some of your work and ask more questions. You might make new friends, depending on who is in your class, but you'll probably know most the kids and most of the kids are really nice. That's pretty much it, just keep what i've said in mind and you'll be fine. Good Luck!

Dear fourth graders, here is some advice for next year. First, pay close attention and listen carefully to the teachers,so you can be more smart. Behave and respect your classmates and teachers in the classroom. Love your teachers! Secondly, you need to be respective of others space for example, do not go in someone else's desk without permission. Student' you will be introduced to new books like chapter books you most read!Reading increases your vocabulary and comprehension skills. Next year you will take a vocabulary test and a math test. I think the math test is the hardest because you have a lot of tricky word problems to solve you will be given a minute to solve the problems. BE good fourth grade's you should have a lot of writing in you writing notebooks you will get a writing notebook in fourth grade in sometimes we have to use our writing note books to do home work but mostly we write an entry about something like for example, you can write comics, fiction, nonfiction or what ever the teacher suggests. Lastly enjoy fourth grade!!!!

  15. Dear Fourth graders,

I am giving some advice, so my first advice is to take 4th grade very serious because the work you do in 4th grade will go to the middle schools you want to go to. My second advice is to not do projects at the last minute because it is bad when it happens and I know that because it happen to me. My third advice is to practice multiplication because you are Supposed to know your multiplication and not knowing it is very bad in 4th grade and if you do not know them then you should start studying them.

  16. Dear fourth grader,
fourth grade is a big step up from third grade. You have to practice a lot, but don't worry, practicing is real fun.
Some advice i could give you is to pay attention to revise your writing. I say that because that's one of the most important steps of writing, because you can catch so many mistakes.
My advice for math is you should know more than one strategy, because a single strategy may not work for all problems.
For reading i suggest that you pay attention to what the main problem is and whatever is important in the book. If you don't do that, you may not understand the story and why the characters behave a certain way.

  17. Dear, fourth graders

PAY ATTENTION! I say this because you will do some pretty difficult things and if you don't pay attention it will seem IMPOSSIBLE.
READ A LOT! The reason I'm saying this because reading is important in fourth grade, it's also important in all grades. What I'm trying to say is when you read you understand more this basically EVERYTHING! It also makes you smarter.
DON"T TALK! I'm saying this because when you talk you're disrespecting your teacher, you're also keeping everyone from learning and making it harder for the teacher to teach.

    sincerely,
    Riley piazza;)

  19. Dear incoming forth graders,

Fourth grade is a lot harder than 3rd grade. YOU will learn this in the first month of fourth grade. In fourth grade you have to write every Monday, Tuesday and Wensday so I reccomend to start.
You should start studying your multiplcation tables because every Friday you have to do a multiplcation quiz.
And, you have to pay attention because if you don,t, then nothing will make sense.

  20. Dear future fourth graders,
My advice is to learn your times tables because you will be quizzed on them. You should also be prepared to write a lot. In fourth grade every day you have to write for homework except Friday. You should never talk when the teacher is talking, it gets Ms. S very mad. For recess, don't play fight, it's more serious in forth grade. Don't get the art teacher mad or you will lose your recess. Read on your reading level, Ms.S does not like when you don't. you should be nice to your classmates, so you can make new friends. Listen to Mr. Matt. If you will get into sports club. Study for the state test and don't opt out so you get into a good middle school. Lastly, try your hardest.
    from,
    Liam

  21. Dear 4th grade,
for me 4th grade is a big big step from 3rd grade.
One thing that is important in 4th grade is you have to get you act together.
I think you can have a lot of fun.
4th grade is the most important grade because it goes to your middle school.
For the next 4th graders I think you should learn you multiplication before school starts again.
Every month or two 4th grade can get harder and harder.
In ms.S's class you do multiplication and vocabulary test so you should study them well every day after school.

Beloved community means caring and helping each others every day and it also means never be a bully to anyone. It also means love each other.
    Never give up on anything!
    Love,Miyuu
