What have you learned so far in fourth grade?

What have you learned so far in fourth grade? Think about what you have learned academically (subjects in school) socially (how you interact with others in a beloved community) and in other areas of your life. Do you have any special talents you have grown in this year?

Explain what you have learned in detail, giving specific examples and why it is important to you.

  1. So far in fourth grade I have learned academically how to show-not-tell in my writing. This is important to me because it shows the characters actions while
showing the characters emotions by using the action to express something.
Something I have learned socially in fourth grade is that you shouldn’t hold grudges against people because it can make the fight even worse. This important because when you are a adult things can get way worse. A talent I have grown in outside of school is origami.

  2. In fourth grade I learned equivalent decimals and decimals and fractions that are equivalent. Another thing that I learned is poetry, the things that I learned in poetry is punctuation ,poetic devices and different genres in poetry. I have also learned different forms and techniques in tae-kwon-do. I have also been learning a new dance because in June I have a performance. Being able to know equivalent decimals and fractions are important because it helps me grow as a math student, and knowing forms and techniques in tae-kwon-do is important because it helps me to know how to defend myself and have something that I will be doing for a long time. Also my dance performance is important to me because it will be my first time ever performing in front of a big crowd since I was about three or four.

  3. In math I have learned how to do times problems and division problems and I've learned some really great strategies that. help me with those problems that are very easy and quick to use. And in writingI've learned really how to revise good where we would tape a piece of paper next to our draft and put our revision there and I thought that strategy was really cool and it really helps me.
I've learned that if you can be really. nice to everyone then they will be nice back and you can make friends and always have them on your side no matter what.

I think I have gotten better in math and in writing. In my life I've gotten better at singing and grammar.

  5. In fourth grade, I learned so much from school. One of the biggest things I learned was writing. I learned how to write poetry. I think that poetry was a great thing to learn because it helps me learn all types of writing including feature articles, reviews. The biggest thing it teaches you is realistic fiction. What you are writing is realistic, but did not happen in real life. Socially I have learned about a beloved community and hope you treat others is how you want to be treated. I also grew a lot in math because when I learned long division, it made me treat division completely different.

  6. What I learned so far in fourth grade is that i have thought more about my poetry life and have learned that I am a good poet also in math i learned fractions cross multiplication and decimals and I have grown as a math student and I have grown to enjoy it.I leaned to be a enclusive community and love every single person as who they are and be a beloved community.Poetry I learned different of poetry and the important to it.In math I have never really enjoyed it as much as this year because there is so much beyond a number and I did not know that decimals are fractions so this is what I learned so far.

I learned that u can use decimals with fractions and money. The second thing I learned is that in the book I was reading Crenshaw I new I had to think about how the setting help the story like in this book hes mostly in his house or room that helps because when he has a weird human sized cat as an imaginary friend he mostly pops up when a bad time. my third thing is that when u do poetry u can use more then 1 poetic device, like once I use rhyme and metaphor.

So far in fourth grade I've learned about decimals, multiplication, division, and fractions. Since I've learned these things in my old school, I knew about mathematics already. I've learned multiplication 3 years ago, division 2 years ago and decimals last year. I've learned socially by respecting to each other and not using too much violence. This is important because we are a beloved community and a beloved community doesn't hurt or kill people. Something I've grown in is my mathematics. Some people call me a super math student because I could do math faster than anybody else, especially if we're taking a math test on some Fridays. So that's all about what I learned in 4th grade.

  10. Academically I’ve learned about tenths and hundredths in decimals which is important because 0.05 and 0.50 are different and you need to know the difference. And I’ve learned about how punctuation shows emotion in your poetry which is important because without it your poetry would be boring.

Socially I’ve learned not to imply gun violence and any other kid of violence which is important because a lot of people have been hurt ( physically and emotionally ) from gun violence and we need to respect them and also need to make sure they don’t grow up to be people that hurt others. I’ve also learned to stand up for others because if you don’t them and others could get hurt.

I have grown in my understanding of music and dance because in chorus we learn a lot about your voice and music. And in dance I’ve grown because now I can understand the meaning of dances and learned more about dance. and I’ve also learned a lot more about stop motion animation because I understand how to operate the camera and lights and how the movie is made.

  11. I think I've gotten way better at writing. My handwriting. At the start of the school year, I look back at my notebook and I'm like what did I write there? And now I can look at my writing and I can read my handwriting.

Another thing I got better at is math. Before this school year, I didn't know what a decimal was. It's basically another way of writing a fraction.

I think my reading range has expanded massively. I went from a Q to a W. And I understand more of what I'm reading now. I used to not know what I was reading.

My social activity has gotten better. I feel like I've gotten kinder over the year. An example is that I was picked to be a mediator.

I'm learning a lot about technology and how to edit videos and stuff like that.

  12. I learned that you have to be mature. I learned how to do a standard algorithm. I also learned all about poetry and how to write poems. I learned that when needed we have to stick for ourselves, the community, and for
what is right. Over all I learned that you have to work hard to be a 4th grader.

what I learned in fourth grade is how to use decimals for example 1.47$, I got to learn more about poetry and poetic devices and genres. I learned how to discover patterns in books so I can have a better experience reading. So these are some of the things I learned.

  15. So far in 4th grade I have academically learned is to get more beloved community.
This is important for me because more beloved community you have you can have fun and they sometime can protect you.
I also learned that each of different punctuation can show different emotions .
This is important because in poetry if you use the different punctuation it can make your poem different.
you can also do before and after of your poem.
The thing that I grew socially I'v learned is do not do gun symbol to each other even though it is a hand game.
I think that is important because some people lost there family like that and you don't want to make them feel bad and you don't want them to grow up being a person that hurt others.

What I learned so far in fourth grade is how to make fractions into decimals this is important because last year I didn’t even know what decimals were but now I know how to change it to fractions. What I learned socially is to not make guns with your hands this is important because if we do violent stuff We might grow up to be a violent person. A special talent I grew this year is making clay this is important because I used to be really bad at clay and my mom was better at me but I now I’m catching up to her.

  17. Hi - I have learned things in fourth grade, academically, socially and in other things I do. I'll say what I learned academically.
I learned how to articulate my thoughts about something I read. For example, every Thursday when I write my blog need to get my thoughts of what I want to say down on paper then on the computer. Another example is my theory's and evidence charts I have to articulate my thoughts about books and put them down on paper. I also learned how to take my pieces through the writing stages. One example of how I do this is my independent writing pieces. Each time I take them through the writing stages which are gathering, drafting, revising, editing and final draft. I also learned how to add decimals. I learned that it is fun and a new thing I can do in math.

In fourth grade I've learned socially too! I've learned to talk my feelings out with friends. When someone got mad at me, I talked about how I felt about the situation. I've also grown from having a small voice when I speak in front of a group to having a loud, more confident voice. And during sports, I've been working on my temper with referees.
In fourth grade I've also grown some special talents. For instance I've strengen my shot in soccer and I've learned to learn difficult new pieces without help.

  18. I learned that you can turn decimal into fraction and fraction into decimal. This is important because you need to know math to get in lot of jobs and it means I am growing in math. One social thing that I learned is, if someone does something to you, don’t do it to them back because it can make something bad happen. Like someone hits you, then you hit them back, then you could just start hitting each other till someone gets really hurt or one person stops.

  21. This year I learned how to subtract and add fractions very efficiently.
And in writing I learned how to actually revise. I also learned that poems don't have to rhyme.
I also learned that there are poetic devices within poetry.
I also learned about native americans and the revolutionary war.
I also learned about the writing process which is, gathering, drafting, revising, editing, final draft.
And I learned you have to work hard to be a 4th grader.
