  1. I learned that when British troops entered Yorktown, they were letting there guard down because the Americans and French knew where they were and attacked and trapped the British. This battle was the battle of Yorktown. This is important because this triggered America’s instant win, trapping the British and attacking them, forcing their surrender.Another fact I learned about the revolutionary war is that Benedict Arnold was a spy for the British. This is important because the Americans lost a lot of information by this cause, seeing Benedict was a “major general”. I also learned that children were used as spies for the war. This is important because both sides don’t expect the other side to be suspicious of children and aren’t suspicious of children themselves.

  2. One thing I learned is that George Washington didn’t smile in pictures because many of his teeth were either missing or made of wood. Another thing I learned is that toothbrushes were expensive even though the bristles would fall our and get stuck in people’s teeth. I also learned that people dig holes in their backyards and put their trash in the holes because they didn’t have trash cans. These facts are important because they show that people were treated badly even if they were important.

  3. One thing I learned about the revolutionary war is that they added a bayonet to their musket beneath the barrel and the barrel is when the bullet comes out also this is important because if you need to reload but you don’t have that much time to reload (because it takes a bit of time to reload back then) then you could defend yourself With the blade. Another fact I learned is George Washington was a general and that is important because without him america would have lost the revolutionary war. One more thing I learned is that the french helped America lot at that is important because we wanted to win so we can be independent from the British.

  4. One thing I've learned about the revolutionary war is that King George the third taxed everything and people didn't want to pay the taxes. This is important because the people didn't respect him. Another fact I learned was that George Washington was a general and that was important because he had the right skills and he also became a president. One more thing I learned is Lafayette was very brave and he fought in the war. I think this is important because it tells me that even in the darkest times you have to be brave.

  5. One thing I learned about the revolutionary war is that the musket, the most used gun in the war, takes five minutes to reload. Another thing I learned about the revolutionary war is that the musket could only be used by expert rifleman because the musket is super Bad accuracy. Another thing I learned about the musket is that the first version of it came out in the 1300s.

  6. 1. The Boston mailman.
This fact is important because the Boston mailman got death threats from people because he gave them the wrong mail and they keep on tell the wrong person,so they sent him death threats.
    2. The Boston tea party.
This fact is important because the Boston tea party is when the British sent tea to New York and a group of girls duped the tea in the harbor and drink coffee instead.
    3. The British was losing soldiers.
This fact is important because the 13 colonies had powerful weapons, so if they take a shot a British soldier will die.

  7. one Thing I learned about the Rw is that army’s killed patriots even though they had nothing to do with the Rw. This is important because it’s wrong that they have to be killed for no reason. Another fact is king George lll made a lot of Americans pay taxes for every single thing. This is important because king Goerge lll doesnt even live in America and he’s making the Americans pay taxes that go to him and that’s comletely wrong. Another fact is that the native Americans dumped tea in water. This is important because if there’s no tea they cant drink tea so they won’t have to pay the taxs.

One thing I've learned is that the Boston Massacre was what started the American Revolution. This was important because King George III led troops to kill the Patriots who were against British rule. Another fun fact that I learned about the American Revolution is that there's a Battle of Long Island. This was important because when George Washington's army were approaching, the Redcoats had a surprise attack when G.W.'s army was heading for the British army, so G.W.'s army moved on to Trenton, where they had won battles there. The final fact I learned is that George Washington was elected president. I think this was very important because of his bravery and his own self-confidence. So that's all what I learned about the American Revolution.

  9. One thing I learned about the Revolutionary War is that there were a lot of battles during it. This is important because I thought the Revolutionary War was one battle that just kept going on between the British and the American. I never really knew there were a lot of battles like the battle of Trenton, Long Island and others.

Second thing I've learned is people didn't care about their hygiene. This is important because if you're researching about the Revolutionary War you should at least know about their live style.

Third thing that I've learned is that there were names for the two teams who were battling against each other. There names are the Patriots and the Loyalists.
This is important because in school you usually in school you use the correct term in which those names are those names are the correct term. It's just good and important to know these things at a early age.

  10. I learned a lot about the Battle of Yorktown. I read that one of the British Generals was named Cornwallis and when they had to surrender, he didn't want to go to the ceremony so he sent his second in command. Washington also his second in command as a response to Cornwallis. It's important because it shows that Cornwallis was cowardly and that even in defeat he didn't have any respect for the United States.

I learned that while the Battle of Yorktown was happening the USA had about 17,000 troops. Thanks to the French who had given about 9,000 of the troops which made the 17,000. The British had about 7,500 troops. This was important because the French troops made a big difference in the strength of the US army and it's very possible that the USA could have lost at Yorktown without the French troops.

I learned that Thomas Jefferson made the Declaration of Independence. It was going to be Richard Lee but his wife became ill and then Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write it. This is important because depending on who wrote the Declaration of Independence it could have been very different.

  12. While I was researching the revolutionary war, I found out who signed the revolutionary war. I saw that Phillip Livingston signed the declaration of independence. The funniest part was that we go to the Phillip Livingston School. That was a big coincidence. I also learned that there were a lot of attacks on poor and harmless towns and counties. One of them includes Brunswick, which had a very low population due to attacks from the British. This was important because you can make a map of the most attacked areas of the United States Of America. Another fact I learned from the research was that John Adams and Thomas Jefferson teamed up to stop taxes from the British Parliament. This was important because it was a big deal and a big moment in history. I also learned that tea was considered a traitors' beverage.

  13. I’ve learned that King George was very carful with his kingdoms money so that he overtaxed the Americans, and they started the War. Which is important because it started the war. I also learned that The doctors in that time didn’t understand the human body, so a lot of soldiers died from smallpox which is important because they are the ones fighting the war! I also learned that both sides spied on each other which is important because without it both sides wouldn’t have had as much information. I also learned that one of the soldiers on the British side was called Bloody Ban because he killed patriot soldiers even after they surrendered. This is important because the Patriots would’ve had a lot more soldiers without him.

  14. So far in American Revolution in social study I learned
that Gorge Washington did not smile on any of his pictures including on the one dollar bill too.
Gorge Washington does not smile because that time of the year there were no dentist to fix there teeth. Also Gorge Washington were made out of wood.
Also toothbrushes were expensive even though the bristles will fall of of the toothbrush and go in there gums and make there teeth even more infected.
These facts are important because teeth is very important for them and us I am thinking that if you had less teeth it is even harder to eat and bit.
I also learned that people had to dig holes in there yard and that is were they throw away there garbage and it make it smell stinky.
I think that is also important because you don't want to be poor and they had to live in a smelly house .

#1,my first fact is that in the battle not as many people died like an other wars, such as world war 2 and 3 like 100,000 people died in each of the wars so that's 200,000 people.my second fact is that after people surrendered they still killed them which is dumb. my last fact is that the book Phoebe the spy a man named MR.HICKEY tried to KILL George Washington which really happened and when they got him they tortured him then he died. His full name was Thomas Hickey.

  17. Hercules Mulligan was a spy for the U.S. he dressed up as a British taylor and stole there plans from them. Another fact is that the u.s. were called the patriots and the British were called the loyalists. The last fact i'm going to share is that general cornwallis surrendered during the battle of Yorktown and the u.s. had won!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. My first fact is that the Green Mountain Boys, when they captured Fort Ticonderoga, they raided the liquor supply and got drunk and left Benedict Arnold in charge of Fort Ticonderoga, which was a very bad idea because it boosted his ego way too much so when George Washington put other people ahead of him in rank, he got angry and started delivering spy messages to the British. This is important because it is one of the great examples of Revolutionary War spying.

Second, Boston residents were throwing snowballs at British soldiers, because the British soldiers were parading around like they owned the place and enforcing King George's taxes. Then one guy threw a brick at a soldier and the soldiers shot into the crowd and killed five people, including Crispus Attucks. This is an important example of the Revolutionary War because it started the Boston Massacre, which lit a giant flame that sparked the patriots' uprising.

And number three, my final example, is Cornwallis' sword. When Cornwallis gave this object to George Washington after surrendering at Yorktown, the Revolutionary War ended. And this is an important object because it ended the American Revolution.

  21. I have learned a lot about the Revolutionary War. These are my three facts and how they are important to the American Revolution.

Fact one, the Battle of Yorktown was not the end of the the American Revolution. The American Revolution has an obvious starting battle but everyone thinks the Battle of Yorktown was the end. This is important because the war was not officially over until the Treaty of Paris was signed, two years later.

Fact two is that Lafayette's first battle was the Battle of Brandywine where he got wounded, shot in the leg. Washington had everyone take really good care of him. This fact is important is because Lafayette is a big part of the Revolutionary War and he as the one who convinced the French to become Allies with us, the Americans. Without Lafayette, we may not have won the war.

Fact three is that Breeds Hill is the deadliest battle of the Revolutionary War. That is important because tons of lives were lost on both sides who some of which were innocent. This is an important fact for us to know because I think it's important for people to understand how many lives were lost for our freedom.
