skyla has been abusing owen and niomi because she is using niomi to look good and gran was worreid about skyla because she is going to ruin the kids lives and niomi over herd her teacher talking about her motner drinking and thats another reason gran to be worried.

Naomi is feeling disappointed because she heard her teacher telling the principle that Naomi's dad wanted Naomi and Owen I also know this because she thought Gram should have told her that her father wanted her back. Blanco is feeling glum because Naomi's mother didn't come I also know this because she shrugged when her mother took her home. The principle is feeling unsure because she asked the teacher who is Skyla I also know this because she was like "Oh." When she found out who was Skyla. Gram feels confident about Skyla because she thought Skyla knew where to take them after school I also know this because she thinks Skyla is going to pick them up after school.

ReplyDeleteNaomi is feeling un-balenced because she over-heard her teacher and the principal talking about her mom and she questiond herself like whats is i half-way house, my mom is on mood med, what do they mean shes alcoholic, my mom whent to a hospital alot of times?
I choose feelings of character for my topic. Naomi feels confused because she overheard the principal and her teacher talking about her parents. The principal said Naomi’s dad wanted her and her brother Owen.Naomi heard the teacher say her mom had a bad habit of drinking and she wouldn’t let the dad take back the kids to take care of them.Blanca is feeling disappointed because Skyla was supposed to pick up Naomi and Owen and meet Blanca’s mom but she didn’t come so Gram came to get them instead. Alot of choices Skyla makes effects Naomi and Owen directly and it affects the way the feel through out the story. Skyla does not always think about the kids feelings and that cause alot of conflict with all the characters.

What motivates Skyla is alcohol because she was being bossy to her family members. And her eyes were red, nightgown smelled like sour milk and looked like she didn’t sleep. Naomi overheard Ms. Morimoto and Ms. Dominguez while getting her backpack saying she’s had rehab and struggles with alcohol abuse.
What motivates Gram is love because she’s being overprotective with Owen and Naomi, so they don’t find out about Skyla’s problems with alcohol. She wanted it to be a secret, so they don’t get scared if they found out.
What motivates Naomi is Skyla to make friends because she made a friend with her new look and her hair.

One of the traits are that she is bossy. she is bossy because when she made a mess in the trailer, she told Naomi, Owen and Gram to pick it up. another trait of Skyla is she lies. a reason that she lies is because she was so exited to go to her conference but she did not come. the final trait is that she is mean. the reason is that that when she bought stuff for Naomi, Owen asked " Did you get anything for me?" and then she replied "no because it is national girls shopping day."
ReplyDeleteOne symbol is Skyla's night gown because it smelled like spoiled milk and it's a sign of her being an alcoholic and another symbol is the soap carved elephant it's a symbol of family because her dad gave it to Naomi and Naomi felt sad and mad because Naomi overheard Gram and Naomi's teacher say that Skyla is an alcoholic.

ReplyDeleteI chose feelings. Naomi is feeling like a shiny penny, because she made a new friend named Blanca and she got new clear lip gloss, new clothes , and her mom did her hair. Skyla is acting kind of rude to her son. She didn't care about getting him anything new, like the new bike he wanted, and she also makes up these dumb excuses that she can't get Owen anything.I think she's only doing this to Owen because he is mentally disabled and she called him ''deformed.''So i think Skyla is really a bad parent, she is very rude and doesn't to deserve to be one.
ReplyDeleteSkyla is an irresponsible person. She left the kids alone in a hotel while there was a storm to go shopping. The kid’s father was looking for them during this time and he got angry when he found out that she had left them alone. She also didn’t go to Naomi’s parent teacher conference.
