ReplyDeleteByron always says” Aw man” whenever he’s disappointed or he’s in trouble or thinks he’s in trouble. For example, when Daniel shaved his head and when the parents said “Come sleep in our room” so, he doesn’t escape because Joetta told on him. Byron said” Aw man”. Also, he said”aw man” when he thought that they were on welfare because they told him to sign instead of paying for it.

ReplyDeleteWhen a character is disappointed, they think to themselves the same thing over and over again. In the book, this pattern happened around 4 or 5 times so far. One of the times was when the Wool pooh was dragging Kenny into the water, he thought to himself ready aim fire. Another time was when it is unlucky for Kenny because when Kenny was thinking about joey being crushed by the church but seeing her back home with no dust spots, he felt foolish in front of joey because joey was asking what was wrong with Kenny. So Kenny was thinking to himself ready aim fire. The pattern seems to come up when Kenny is disappointed. He focuses on this because It helps him to focus on the positive.
The main problem in the story is there is a family named the Watsons and in the family there is a boy named Byron and he gets into a lot of trouble and he is trying to act cool like a boy named Buphead. By doing so he dyes his hair and straightens it to impress Buphead. He also was playing with matches, so his parents decided to go to Grandma Sands' house, so he can learn his lesson, so they did and he changes back to his old self.
ReplyDeleteI am doing patterns. One pattern is when Byron doesn't get what he wants or gets in trouble he says "Aww man". I know this because when his little sister told on him when his parents came to his room to talk to him he said aww man straight away.I also know this because when his hair got shaved off he said aww man in about two seconds.

ReplyDeleteByron's motivation is to look cool and be popular like his friends by behaving badly.
I say this because he threw a cookie at a bird to scare it and to impress his brother, but he accidentally killed it instead. Byron showed bad behavior by dying his hair without his mother’s permission to look cool like his friend, Buphead. Byron also lit matches inside his house after his mother said not to multiple times.
I noticed a pattern with Byron, whenever he's disappointed or is in trouble or thinks he's in trouble he says ''aw man.''I know this because when Joetta told on him and mom said ''Byron you should sleep in our room tonight and he said aww man. I also know this because, Byron said aww man and yelled out the S word because he had to spend the summer with Grandma Sands. Another pattern I noticed is that Kenny keep saying ''Ready, Aim, Fire!'' and I think it means whenever something bad happens he says that.I know this because when he got stuck in the whirlpool and said ''Someone would've tied you up to a tree and said Ready, Aim, Fire!''

ReplyDeleteByron's motivation for saving Kenny is he felt guilty for letting Kenny go to Collier's landing I also know this because he kissed the top of Kenny's head. Kenny's motivation for behaving mean to Byron is because he is not use to Byron behaving good. I also know this because he called Joey and Byron " A bunch of squares. " Willona's motivation for sending Byron to Grandma Sands for the whole summer is because Byron put chemicals in his hair when he wasn't allowed to. I also know this because Byron was playing with the matches and also Byron took advantage of the list of good they needed.
