  1. I notice that in the book a pattern that happens is that when Byron is disappointed, he always says "aww mann. I know this because for example when mom said to Byron"because it is your last night under the Watson roof" {or something like that} he said aww mann.

  3. I noticed that By always says "aww man" when something disappoints him and what also makes him says that is when something exciting turns out boring. I also know this because when the mom and dad goes in his room to say "since its your last night under the watsons roof, me and your dad decided you will be bunked with us tonight." Then Byron said "Aww man." Byron's motivation for behaving bad is getting the wrong type of attention. I also know this because Buphead put chemicals in his hair and Byron wanted to do the same thing. Kenny's motivation for behaving mean to Byron is because Byron is not going to be around for awhile. I also know this because he's glad that Byron is not going to bully him no more for the whole summer or whole school year.

  4. Dad and momma’s belief system is that if they send Byron to Grandma Sands’ house, he will straighten out and fix his bad deeds because Grandma Sands is strict. They believe that since the laws in Alabama are stricter, Byron will learn discipline. Byron’s belief system is that he is angry with the parent’s for sending him to Grandma Sands’ house because he feels like he doesn’t deserve it.

  5. the authors message is to teach kids about racism.i know this because in the book they talk about the racism on tv down south.i also know this because the dad says that By needs to go down south because he needs to learn about racism and that he cant just do whatever he wants there because there are consequences to his actions and that he's never been exposed to racism.

  7. I noticed By's motivation to acting bad is trying to be cool, and I know this because he died his hair, and made it straight and he told his mom ''I think it looks cool!'' and he was playing with matches by lighting all of Kenny's dinosaurs on fire. I also know this because he beats up kids, and in the beginning he also sat away from his family by a inch even though it was practically freezing just because being ''cool'' means u have to sit apart from your family to be cool.

  8. I think Kenneth is going to get bulled even more because by is like the god of the school but now that bys not there they can bully him even more because they dont need to worry that by wont beat them up like how he did to larry Dunn

  9. The topic I chose is, author’s message. The author’s message is, if you do something bad, bad things will happen to you. I say this because after Byron bullied the children in school, as well as his younger siblings and followed his friends that are also known to have bad behavior, he finally learned his lesson. Byron’s parents are sending him away to Grandma Sand’s house in Florida for the entire summer and he doesn’t like going there.

  10. Byron's motovation is most likely to be cool so he can impress his friends. He always didn't listen to his parents so he would in trouble alot with his parents,he liked to play with matches and he died his hair so when his dad came home his dad shave him bald so when he didnt learn his lesson they sent him to grandma sands' house because she was stricter than the parents.

  11. The authors message of the Watsons Go To Birmingham is be yourself because it's better to be yourself than try to act like others. Byron wasn't being himself and he was trying to act cool and act like Buphead so more people would like him. I know this because he dyed his hair and when he found out that they were using welfare, he got cookies and took advantage of that. He beat up someone (name forgotten) because he stole By's gloves and also put black shoe polish on them, but also By was playing with matches.
