Individuals have the power to change the community. As a class, what would you like to do as a community service project? The community project can be done locally near the school (walking distance) or in the greater community (city, state, country or world). Be the change! Love, Ms. Scarborough

I think that as a class we should learn a dance that you don't see a lot,and make cards to invite poor people and people that are sick and do a performance for people that don't really get to see performances so that's what I think we should do (and pick up trash)
ReplyDeleteAs a studen I want to make a show where people can pay to see the show and we can give some of the money to the poor and get some new supplies like new books for the school and make shore to take care of the supplies so we can use it next year.
ReplyDeleteI have two ideas. One is something that we can do for people in our community. Maybe our class could all go together to help serve food in a soup kitchen for people that are homeless or don't have a lot of money. The other idea is to connect with kids in another country. We might find a school in China where we could become penpals with kids our age and share our lives. Sincerely, Sophia
ReplyDeleteI think the class can bring some joy to the elderly. We can visit them at a retirement center and volunteer to read or perform for them.
ReplyDeleteTo help our community as a class we could visit the lonely seniors in the retirement home. We could talk to them, bring them flowers and that might make them feel better. We could also pick up the trash in our neighborhood. That would help the world by stopping pollution.
ReplyDeleteI would like to make my community look beter by making sure that the side walks are clear of trash.I could do this by picking up trash on the side walk and putting it in the trashcans.
ReplyDeleteIn the Spring,I would like to plant a community garden for everyone to enjoy.
To help the community, we could start a recycling program. We could go to a certain place and pick up the trash there. We could put recycling bins in school. And, hopefully, other kids as well as us would recycle. We could put signs above trash cans urging people to recycle.

If I could have a job for community service, I would like to volunteer to work at a soup kitchen for poor people!
ReplyDeleteAlso what I would like to do is to work for all different car companies because I can say you guys should use certain engines and fuel so we can have less pollution in our air we breath. So the world will be a better place and we ourselves will be healthy as well!
As a class, I would like to get together with some elderly people, who would like to help do community service with us. We could pick a day to walk around the school and neighborhood to pick up trash and recyclables.

I really like this idea!
As a community service project, I think it would be a good idea to organize a food and clothes drive. We can start by giving out flyers asking neighbors, friends and family to donate clothes they have outgrown and food items. When we collect everything we could sort them out and make hampers to give to families that need help.
ReplyDeleteI think that we should have a project to help by understanding what we can reduce what we can reuse and what we can recycle. We can have places to reduce reuse and recycle. We can have three bins in our classroom. One for cardboard, one for cans and one for garbage. We can make posters to show what sort of things go in which bin. We can also put signs on the bins. On the posters, I think we can have pictures of signs that say "cardboard", "cans" and "garbage". Then we can have arrows pointing to which of the bins each material belongs in. That's what I think we should do for our class service project.

old wood and old papers.Everyday the world gets a little less greener.
Because a lot of people don't care about the world.We can also hand out posters that say don't litter.You cant have only 1000 people
save a world you need the whole world to
pitch in!People think skunks are discusting but they actuly help the
world!If you have a garden and you have leftover egg shells you can put them in the soil of your garden.A GREENER WORLD IS A BETTER
