What is a portrait and why do artists create them?
What kinds of ideas can an artist express through portraits?
If you were going to create a portrait and dedicate it to someone, who would it be and why? What would you want to communicate about that person through your portrait?

artist create portrait s because they express who they are in a painting and how they feel and also telling a story with there work also. A artist is like a storyteller with there art work by describing how they connect with the art and when people come to art musems and they know how the Artists feel and come from. If I had want to dedicate a picture to someone I would do it to know how they feel up in heaven and look down and say someone remembers me and that's how they would communicate with that special person.
ReplyDeletePortraits are made to express the artists feelings, and how they think of things.usally artist get there ides from something, or someone that inspires them. One idea you can express through art is something that you see happening, an action. If I were to create a portrait and dedicate it to someone, I would dedicate it to my parents to show how much I love them. I would make it out to them because they do so much for me and I want to do something big for them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kyleigh. Artists do create paintings to express themselves and to show who they are inside. Sometimes their paintings express how they feel. For example if someone feels upset they might paint a picture of a war or dark colors like black or brown or dark blue. Artists can express tons of ideas from anywhere. They can get ideas from life or what happened in the past or they can express ideas that they thought of creatively in their minds and they can just add some colors and designs and see what happens. Sometimes it's based on feelings like I said. Bad days usually=something sad or glum or dark colors. Good days=usually something nice or light colors. If I were to do a portrait I would probably do it on a family member. Like my mom or dad because I know them very well. Or my cousin Olivia. Because she is my age, just a year younger so it would be easier to draw or paint her. The way I would communicate something about a person is to show their good side. Maybe put a smile on their face or a nice background.
ReplyDeleteA portrait is something that is a replica of something else, just in drawing form. Artists make them usually to remember someone or in honor of them. Artists can express their opinions and feelings about the portrait by drawing them in a certain mood or with a certain trait. If I were going to do create a portrait of someone it would be Martin Luther King Jr. I would choose him because he had passion and courage. I would want to communicate that Martin Luther King Jr was someone who is and should always be respected for sacrificing his life for equal rights.

ReplyDeleteA portrait is a way of showing your opinion, feelings, and maybe someone. Have you ever heard someone say "I'm blue"? Well blue is another way of saying sad. Most colors mean a feeling. For mad , sad , and upset the colors you can use is black , brown , and maybe grey also. If your in a happy mood you can use light colors like yellow, green , and orange. I've never been to the museum of modern art before but I'm very interested of learning the art in the museum.

I would draw Harriet Tubman because she is very important to our history. If it weren't for her there still might have been slavery. I would like to ask her how brave she was to stop slavery? Wasent she scared? I would talk about her parents.

If I did a portrait of someone it would be probably be Cedric because I know what he looks like and I used to have curly and draw him and I have known Cedric for a long time.
ReplyDeleteA portrait is a piece of art that is made after someone. Or in other words a picture of a person or a seen of people. An artist can express how mean a person is or how nice a person is. In other words a persons personality and behaviors. If I was going to make a portrait it would be a portrait of my mom because she has a lot of traits that are cool and that I can show to people easily traits like lovingness responsibility creativity artistic and caring. In my portrait I would express responsibility and kindness because my mom dose so many choirs a day and she always dose nice stuff for us buys us things makes dinner dose the laundry and all sorts of other things too.

DeleteAn artists paintings show the artists feeling and their inside. Artists can get their ideas from just about anything. One thing that it can be is someone from the past or present who maybe changed your life or everyone's life. If I made a portrait it would be of my father. The reason being my dad is always there for me when I need help and just in general and he means a lot to me. I would want people to see that my dad is a happy and sweet person when they look at it. I would do this by painting it with bright colors and paint a big, huge smile on his face so people could see he was happy and nice, sweet looking.

Artists create them because they show they're feelings by art and it helps to express how you feel, and also it gives you a chance to show other people your artwork. An idea that an artist can express is how they feel or how they create something, and why. It also gives someone a chance to show how artistic they are and to show their artistic abilities and creativity. If I were to make a portrait and dedicate it to someone, it would probably be Ms.S because she is just a really nice and academic teacher and you can't find another teacher like that, and Ms.S always challenges you and pushes you to be a better student, helps you, and she is the teacher everyone wants to have. I would show how much I love Ms.S and how much she has taught me. Before I didn't get anything complicated but now with Ms.S she breaks things down for me and teaches me more efficient and better ways to do things like in math and in writing.
ReplyDeleteA portrait is a picture of you or somebody. Portrait don't have to look exactly like the person. For example: it doesn't have to be the same color, it can be all different colors. Artists create portraits so that people all over the world can see them. Paintings can be creative and different than photographs. Artists can express their moods and feelings, their talents through painting. I would paint my friend Zoe because she is like a sister to me. I would want to communicate how much I love her and how much I care about her.

ReplyDeleteI know in figure drawing you have to draw something in human form. When you figure draw, you draw the body more than the face. Figure drawing is three dimensional. Figure drawing is from your perspective. When you draw you have to draw and look at what your drawing constantly.

Artists create portraits because instead of using a camera to take a picture you can draw, paint, and express your creativity, at the same time. Artists can express fiscal attributes, the subject character, the painters mood, why the subject means to the painter. I would dedicate the portrait to my grandmother who lives in Mexico and I would give it to her because she lives far and it helps, me remember her. I would like to communicate that she {my grandmother} is a shy person, who doesn't talk very much and loves me.
ReplyDeleteA portrait is almost like a replica but instead it is drawn, painted, sketched,and etc. But one thing you HAVE to remember is that a portrait is an art piece of a person other than yourself because if the art piece is of yourself it is then called a selfportrait. Portraits are often from the shoulder up and rarely of the whole body. Artists create portraits because they want to express their feelings about someone or because they are paid by another person or because the artist feels like that person deserves publicity. Some ideas that artists can express in their portrait are the feelings of the other person, what the person is thinking, and what type of person the poser is. If I were going to create a portrait of someone it would be my mom because she can keep still and she has great detail that would be fun to draw. What I would want to communicate about this person is her happiness, stressfulness, hopefulness, and how easy going she is.

A portrait is when you draw a picture of someone else. Artists create portraits because portraits symbolize how important that person is to them. I would draw a portrait of Ruby Bridges, because she was one of the people to change history. I would want to say Ruby Bridges is amazing because she was a 6 years old that changed history and it must've been scary because she HAD to change history and everybody was counting on her.
ReplyDeleteA portrait is a piece of art that is realistic and is only suppose to show a person's head and shoulders. Portraits are made to show someone's face and a lot of the details in it. If I was to do a portrait I would do it of my cat, Dash, because its an interesting idea and he would be a very fun thing to draw, but also very hard. My message would be that cats can have portraits too, because they're also living things, and they're very cute and Dash is a member of our family.

Whenever artist draw a portrait they have to decide what there going to draw. A portrait can be many different things. Artist draw portrait it shows there feelings whether its good or bad. I like to create artwork when I'm happy to show my emotions with different colors.

The portrait I would create would be dedicated to my parents, of myself. It will communicate that I became a pediatrician and how happy I am.
