One symbol in Wonder is the summer table. The summer table is a symbol of Summer and Auggie’s friendship. It is a sybol because they did it together. It is also a symbol because Summer was the one of the only kids that went up to August. One more reason why the summer table is a symbol that Summer is brave.

DeleteHi everyone! One symbol I have noticed about Wonder is that the “Summer Table”is a symbol of Auggie being included. I know this because Summer, Auggie's friend made the table with him and treats him like a normal kid and does not bully him like Julian does. Another piece of evidence is that its the one place where Auggie goes to talk to people and not have them loudmouth about his disfigurement.

Summer is an angel to August. I know this because Summer sat with August which made him feel special. I also know this because August felt like he could tell Summer anything. I also know this because August said "Thanks for sitting with me!"

DeleteAugust and via have different point of Views of the same things. How I know this is because on Halloween, when he told via what happened to him, via said to give them another chance but,August said to tell on them and let Jack get in trouble for what he said,also, when August have bad days Via says that everyone have bad days, but August says it’s only him , then they start fighting over in. This show that August and Via have different point of views on the same thing.
ReplyDeleteOne problem in the book is that when people see August's face, they can't stand it. I know this because in the text when August was telling the story, it said that when his classmates saw his face for the first time, they were kind of shocked. It would take a long time for his classmates to get used to his face. During Halloween, when he had to put on the Bleeding Scream costume, Jack Will didn't know that it was his friend August. When he got bullied by his friend Jack Will, he cried in some kind of room. Then August faked a stomachache to not go to school again. So that's probably the problem in the book. So that's all I know.

DeleteI think the main problem in Wonder is, kids bully August because they they're assuming there's a problem with him when he's actually very intelligent and humorous.
ReplyDeleteI know this because Julian is always rude to him when he doesn't even really know who he truly is. He also is a jerk because he's bulling by his look and not the personality. The reason you should judge someone by their personality is because then you know if they're nice or mean and that's when you make the decision to be their friend or not.
He also shouldn't be bulling someone with a certain type of look when you probably know they get looked at a lot and get very emotional afterwards.
A author’s message is don’t judge a book by its cover. I say that because if you look at august he looks odd and does not look like most people but if you get to know him he is like every other person on the inside because his face is not like most people but he does things like play on the xbox or eat ice cream. I say that also because julian looks nice but he is mean because he called august a freak.

DeleteA symbol in Wonder is Lightning , the sled Jack found in the park. It symbolizes the peer pressure Jack is under, and how different he is from the other boys.
ReplyDeleteMy first evidence for that is because it shows how he has to pretend in front of them, like fake laughing about how the sled got taken. This shows that you he was pretending to be friends but really he was upset and wanted to be with August.
My second evidence is how like Miles was bragging about the expensive sled his Dad got him and Julian bragging that Skeleton Hill was nothing compared to the hill his Dad could drive them to. This shows that how he doesn’t brag and how that makes him uncomfortable because he seems like he doesn’t have anything.

DeleteI choose to write about character belief system. I choose Auggie's character belief system. August belief system is that he's ordinary.
ReplyDeleteMy first piece of evidence is that Auggie is good in school. He has the best cursive and regular handwriting Jack is ever seen from boy. For example, Jack Will says, “August has the neatest handwriting in our grade. At least of the boys”. August is also extremely good in science! He's like the best in the school in science!
My second piece of evidence is that Auggie plays like other kids. He can play video games, and he Isn't paralyzed or anything. He goes sledding, and plays other things like 4 square. He is just as capable as other kids are in doing those activities.
My third piece of evidence is that he is physically just like everybody else. He can run, walk, learn, just as fast and as good as anyone else. There is no activity he cannot participate in and he can do everything anybody else could do.The only difference I see are his looks and that's just the same as everybody else. Everyone is different black, white, asian, Indian. We all look differently, learn differently, talk differently and we are all different.

DeleteMy theory is that August believes that he is a ordinary.I know this because he said that he is ordinary because I eat ice cream like everyone and ordinary things.Also he just has one problem his face is deformed and thats all thats just the outside but in the inside he is ordinary he is actually really smart.So that is why I think august is ordinary.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem is that Augie is being bullied because of the way his face looks. My first reason is that there is a thing going around called the Plague witch is a game where you can't touch Augie. My second reason is that some of his friends are only his friends because the principal asked them to be. My third reason is that someone said that he would rather die if he looked like Augie.

I also know this because when Summer went to Samantha’s party Samantha said you will have to pick one Julian or Aggie and she said you dont have to hang out with the freak you can hang out with Julian but Summer picked Auggie instead of Julian.
ReplyDeleteOne of the main problems in the book is that Auggie has a deformed face and everyone bullies him. Julian said to him "were you in a fire or something?" in a not-nice tone. And the school made up "the plague" which is if you touch Auggie and don't wash your hands in 30 seconds or less, then you have the plague.
ReplyDeleteA second problem is that Auggie's sister, Via is struggling in high school. An example is that she is having a fight with her friends and not talking with them.

ReplyDeleteI think it would be difficult because when you go to a different state you might not know the langue and that would be confusing. Our life would be different because people want to say thank you or hi you can't understand what there saying.
