If Martin Luther King, Jr. was alive today and you could write him a letter, what would you say?
What questions would you ask him?
What would you tell him about your own life?
How would you thank him?

DeleteDear Dr. Martin luther king, I'd like to say thank you to all the things that you have done for the country. Thank you for making sitting in buses equal for all citizens. Thank you for making schools diverse with all different kinds of people. In the school that I attend, PS 261 in Brooklyn there are many different kinds of races. Now, any race on buses are allowed to sit wherever they want. One question I have for you is when you were born? Also when did segregation become illegal in our country?Do you have any brothers or sisters? Did you really want to risk your life to make segregation illegal?
ReplyDeleteDear Martin Luther King ,
ReplyDeleteYou get high gratitude from me, Orli Hahn-Ott.I think highly of you for your hard work on making people beleive that SEGREGATION is bad.
It is how I got my best friend Aman (I've Known her since I was 2 and she is special to me).
I envy your courage and strength.
If it was the time of segregation right now, then I would be marching for equal rights ,and I would be standing strong against those wrong do-ers, and would be fighting and fighting ,like you.
If M.L.K was in the classroom I would first tell him my name Chloe Shepherd. Then I would tell him that his work was amazing. Then I would ask the following questions:did some people of different color skin follow your lead and agree with you? When you went out on marches did you know how dangerous it was out there? If you knew, did other people in the marches know? Did you ever make good friends with someone of different color? Did the other people in your family worry about you and tell you it was dangerous what you did? Then I would tell him how much I loved him. I would tell him I think that we should not hate and be afraid of difference and change, but embrace and value it.
ReplyDeleteDear Dr. King,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for what you have done, you have made the world a better place for every one. Were you sacred when you were marching? Well, probably not because you are the greatest man on earth!! You are famous now!!
xoxo,Ella
What I would say is... Dear Martin.L.King
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for all you have done in the past years. The way your speeches were said and how they changed the world. God bless for your bravery and strength and what you were doing for the people of the city . When I found out about you the first time , I remembered you as a president.

If I could write a letter to MLK (and I wish I could) this is what it would say: Dear Doctor Martin Luther King, how did it feel marching with all the people and how did you form such a big march? But most of all how did you just keep on going with people cursing and beating you up? You were very young to lead a lot and a lot of people marching!!!!!! You must have a lot of courage to go to jail 14 times and then keep marching. After all you are the one who changed the world. You are a very good man. From Atticus Martin Radwell
ReplyDeleteDear M.L.K,
ReplyDeleteI can’t thank you enough for all the things you’ve done. If it weren’t for you, we probably wouldn’t have half our class, in our class. Life is so great without segregation! You inspire me a lot. Everybody should have equal rights, and you made people realize that. Did people ever hurt you badly while you were protesting? You changed the world!
Love Bebe☺
Dear Dr. King- I want to thank you for making every single place stop segregation. And I would also think it would be helpful if you were still alive I could help you do some things to continue to help humanity and make different colored skin people equal. My mom is white and my dad is Dominican and my brother and I are half white and half Dominican but since we look white we don't suffer from racism much. But a lot of other people do still. And I hope that someday that there can be a lot of history about you for making earth a better place. They remember your birthday ever single year so they can celebrate all of your speeches and all of the work you did to still make earth a safe planet for all of the different colored people in America.
ReplyDeletegreat job Alex!!!
DeleteMy letter to Martin Luther King. JR would be, how did you stop congregation and how did you stop racism? And also if you were not to stop congregation and racism what would you do?Thank you for putting all of your string into helping the united states. My question to MLK is what was it like for you not to be able to have a white friend when you were young. And how did it fell to be treated bad bye people that did not like you.I wish that Martin Luther King. JR was still alive.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Gig and I also wish that MLK was still alive but did you mean segregation not congregation?
Delete> Dear Dr Martin Luther King Jr ,thank you for all you have done to stop segregation. You helped lots of people get access to education which helped there lives. You made it so that my friends and I can be together. The earth has people of many colors . Without you I am pretty sure that their lives would be worse without you. The reason why is people would not be able to go to good restaurants and have good jobs. There would not be freedom and equality for all. We are all still working on that.
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping us to be what we are. Love: Halina James.
If Martin Luther King were still alive I would send him a note saying,If you did not end segregation I would not be in the class i’m into today i would be separated by race. I would also say, if you did not end segregation what would you have to do next? the last thing I would ask mlk is, what did it feel like when you were saying your “I have a dream speech.” the very last thing I would say is, thank you for putting a stop to segregation thanks to you we will not be treated unfairly, and thank you for putting everyone together no matter our color or race.
ReplyDeleteI'm back
Deletedear dr. ReplyDeletelove Molly Katchuba
Dear Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
ReplyDeleteI don’t even know how to thank you for the amazing and inspiring things you’ve done for the world. Without you taking action to stop segregation, who knows how long it would have taken people to be brave enough to stand up, fight and believe. I’d like to ask you a few questions;
What did it feel like to be a leader to many and lead a march?
Other than Mahatma Gandhi, what other people did you look up to?
How would you deal with racism and unnecessary violence today?
Did you ever have a debate with Malcolm X ?
Did you ever feel unsure about what you where doing during a march?
You are a hero. It is amazing how you worked hard and sacrificed your life for civil rights. The world looks up to you. I want to thank you so much for everything you’ve done and taught me. Now, I will never give up.
With the greatest gratitude and love ever known,
Leila Tova Cure
i love all your grate words i agree a lot!
ReplyDeleteI would say that he changhed our lives. We have had the best lives. Without you I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't have my kind white friends like Ella. I would be threanted and be hanging from trees. You risked your life for us and now we'll do whatever it takes to make you happy. You helped our lives and now we will do the same for you. Whatever I need to do to make you happy. I would also say that he was the best man that has ever lived.
ReplyDeleteDear MLK, thank you so much, you have changed my life and our society in so many ways. One of the reasons I say this is that some of my good friends might not even know me and might have to go a bad or poor school if it wasn't for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat was it like going to jail so many times and being mistreated by the government? Do you think that things to are fair for everyone? What else needs to happen for things to be fair?
dear martin luther king jr. i can't evan tell you how thankful i am for you. it was so brave of you to san up to those mean people (who should of bin arrested not you) and stand up for your self and what should of bin right. now i have a few questions: how did feel to be a leader for a lot of people?,who did you look up for to get this idea?, how many times did you have big marches?,when did you come up with these ideas for marches and protesting? you are one of the worlds biggest heroes! if if was not for you i would not have a lot of the friends i do now. with out you my school would not have a lot of teachers they have now and we would not have our wonderful principal ms. mills. we wold also not have our really good president. so i just want to say thank you so much!!!!!! love nona kai cuscuna smith.bey:)
ReplyDeleteIf MLK was alive right now I would write him a letter that says:
ReplyDeleteDear Dr. Martin Luther King,
Thank you for fighting for our rights and helping us have a wonderful life. I would also tell you that without you my mom and dad would not have the jobs they have today. I would also say that you are my number one hero and that I would also not go to school at P.S 261 if you did not change my world like you did. I would also say I love you so much. The way that I will thank you is telling you thank you like 200 times and hugging you over and over. To honor you I will be nice to all people I see no matter what. I will also honor you by helping others no matter what.
Love,
Haven Gandsy
Dear, MLK
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all you have done. You have changed my life so much by all the things that you have done. If you had not done the things that you have done I probably wouldn't be writing this and wouldn't have had these amazing teachers that I have had. I probably wouldn't know any of my best friends. Thank you so much for all that you have done.
Love,
Nadia

ReplyDeleteDear Martin Luther King,
ReplyDeleteWhat or who inspired you to be brave? I would love to know. I am nine and I have a great fourth grade teacher named Ms. Scarborough who talks about you and what you did. I have to say a big thank you MLK because you made it possible to have friends that are black and they go to the same school as me. I am touched by your words of strength and the amazing "I Have a Dream" speech. And I would say we need you here still because there are still problems in the world that people need your help to change to make the world a better place.
Love, Bea
If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was alive today I would ask what made him stop segregation and how did he get the courage to do it. I would tell Dr. MLK Jr. that he changed my life by fighting for segregation and that he changed everyone else life the same way. I'm able to go to school with friends that have different skin colors. I would thank Dr. MLK Jr. by saying thank you very much for what he did, also by giving him a gift he would like.
ReplyDeleteThese words mean to me don't hate, don't act violently and always be nice and take care of people and always love each other very much. It also violence and weapons do not solve any problems but the only thing that matters to us is to always have memories that will follow your heart.
