  2. The poem represents that every body should have Love ,Peace and Equality.
    My text evidence is that:
He said "nobody should walk alone"and "Join hands together" , and what that means is 'we should not be mean to people, and turn their friend ship away, and that nobody should walk home from the first day of school with no friends to share their joy together (for instance). And he also means that you need freedom to do most of the stuff that "normal" people do, For instance ,People should be able to hold hands with other people, even if someone does not agree with that.
He also said that he wanted every one to be happy , because they were loved by everybody.
And what he means by sturdy grace of brother hood is:
    The sturdieness of friendship.
And youngness. Like the small amount of time between child and adult. To me grace is usually "a graceful leap or a graceful dart " so sturdy leap of brother hood is how fast time goes by .
This poem is like a riddle, you have to solve, and find out what it means.

  3. In the poem when the author said "the sturdy grace of brotherhood" She means that MLK understood the love and kindness of his childhood and that he wanted everyone to love each other and to be kind to each other. The author tried to tell me in the four stanzas that "HE HAD A DREAM" Then his words showed everyone that he was right. This poem showed me that MLK was a great man and he did amazing things in his life.

  4. The poem Martin Luther King Jr. has the following meaning to me. The first stanza I think means that Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream about brotherhood. The second I think means that everyone can be happy. The third means we don't do this alone. And the fourth tells me his dream is about freedom.

  5. Stanza No.1
    He had a dream
    He understood the sturdy grace
    of brotherhood.

I think this means that he knew that kindness and love is VERY important.

    Stanza No.2
    He had a dream-
    that simple joy
    would gently bless
    each girl and boy

I think this means he loved children very much.

    Stanza No.3
    He shared his dream.
    His wise words shone:
    "join hands."
    "we can not walk alone."

I think this means he loved everyone just the way they were, even if they were light skinned.

    Stanza No.4
    He had a dream
    all hearts can sing:
    "this is our hope....
    let freedom ring."

I think this means he wanted freedom REALLY bad and he did not stop working for it.

  6. I think the first stanza represents that he could understand the feelings of other people so he could help them. The words "he understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood" means the way people are unique and have complicated feelings and that we should not be afraid of that but embrace it. Every person has there own beautiful way of doing things in and helping in a situation. I think the second stanza means that no matter what color skin they have, every one should be treated equally and have joy. I think the third stanza means he shared his words that nobody can change the world alone, that we need to join hands no matter what color skin. I think the fourth stanza means that we must never let anything stop us until we get freedom and love by everyone. Never give up.

  7. This poem explains the cons of slavery and what black people are experiencing. He has a dream about ending all the bad things their doing to black people and making them suffer . Experiencing what happened to MLK Jr. Is really harsh . He was trying to get scared away but he didn't care about it . Because of how the poem tells you " I have a dream that simple joy would gently bless each boy and girl " is about all of the masters using them as slaves . And most petrefied boys and girls don't want that at all .the author was also talking about the poor food they got and couldn't escaped so some parts are about joining hands to freedom . That's what I think the author is talking about .

He had a dream he understood the sturdy grace of brother hood.
I think this stanza means MLK understood that family is important.

He had a dream that simple joy. Would gently bless each girl and boy to be happy
I think this stanza means MLK wants every girl and boy to be happy
He shared his dream his wise words shone, " join hands. We can not walk alone."
I think this stanza means that every body should be kind, and every body should have a friend.
He had a dream. All hearts can sing: " this is our hope , let our freedom ring."
I think this stanza means every body should stand up for freedom.

In stanza 2 Eileen Spinelli says 'He had a dream that simple joy would gently bless every boy and girl.' This means every boy and girl should be with each other and shouldn't play with each other just because the color of their skin. In stanza 3 Eileen Spinelli says 'He shared his dream. 10. The message the author is trying to tell us in each of the four stanzas is that people should have hope and not feel less than any other group of people. He inspired people to fight peacefully for freedom, and this poem talks about that. The sturdy grace of brotherhood means that we are stronger together than we are by ourselves. I know this because later in the third stanza it said "join hands, we cannot walk alone." The first stanza talks about his dream of coming together for freedom. The second stanza talks about how it would be good for all children if his dream came true. The third stanza talks about not doing it on our own, and the fourth stanza sais that we should be hopeful that freedom will happen for everyone.

  11. In the first stanza, I think Martin Luther King had a dream of white and black people being together. In the second stanza, He also Thought Joy would bless each boy and girl of any kind and race. In the third stanza, I think Martin Luther King cared for other people not just black people he had cared for white people too. How i know this is, he said join hands” We can not walk alone”. He wanted people to be free and happy he said, “All hearts can sing: This is our hope… let freedom ring.”

  12. This pome means to me love, piece, joy and freedom for all people. I think the anther was trying to tell the readers in the first stanza is to stick together and part to each other. I know this because it says in the poem " he had a dream. he understood the sturdy of brother hood." and i thing brother hood means sticking to gather your hole life and always being friends. In the decent stanza i think the anther was trying to tell you that all joy and piece would come to all. i know this because in the loam it says "that simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy" so it means like joy to all and stuff like that. In the third stanza i think the anther was trying to tell you to always be together and not walk alone. I know this because in the poem it says "join hands, we can not walk alone". and it is saying to always be to gather and never walk alone in the streets. In the last stanza i think the anther was trying to tell you to have hope and never give up and always have freedom. i know this because in the poem it says "this is our hope... let freedom ring". and so i think he's trying to say have hope and freedom.

    Martin Luther King Jr.
    Poem
    By Eileen Spinelli

In the first stanza of the poem, the author is trying to express that Martin Luther King loved the diversity of people. He embraced each and every one as if they were his children. He understood that we, not judging by our race, should have equal rights.
    He had a dream
    He understood
    The sturdy grace
    Of brotherhood.
The second stanza of the poem, the author is trying to tell me that many different people of different races made him happy when they were together. When they worked as a team to fight for their rights. His dream of having a happy, equal country put spirit in young people, who could make a difference in the world, as young as they are.
    He had a dream
    That simple joy
    Would gently touch
    Each girl and boy

In the third stanza, the author said: that you need to join hands with people and work together. We can’t be alone all our lives. At one point, you need to have someone to guide you and someone to love and care for you.
Also, his wise words were greatly valued by many people. They looked up to him and followed him. For once, they were not afraid to stand up and express their feelings about the world.
    He shared his dream
    His wise words shone
    “Join hands.”
    “We cannot walk alone”
In the last stanza, the author is trying to say: that M.L.K. told the world that your words give others hopes, it gives you hope and hope can lead us to succeeding the mission to freedom. We need to speak for ourselves and believe in ourselves.
    He had a dream
    All hearts can sing
    “This is our hope…
    Let freedom ring.”
I noticed that at the end of each first line in each stanza ends with: Dream.
    All of them said:
    He had a dream.
    Only one said:
    He shared his dream.

To me, this poem means that there should be peace between people, we should love each other and embrace each other. We should all have equal rights, no matter what our race. This is what the poem means to me.

  17. What the poem meant to me was that Blacks and Whites should all be together. No matter what color, they should always be friends no matter what. What they mean by “the sturdy grace of brotherhood" is that he understood what it meant to come together. There is strength in coming together.

In the poem I think that he is saying that we are in this together and we are all the same. I think he means this because he said "we must hold hands"And I think that means that we are in this together. Also I think that he is saying that every one should be able to have a friend and not be alone and to go further that is the same. In the first stanza I think that he was saying that we can have our strong believe and that we a strong without fighting"Sturdy grace of brotherhood" a brotherhood means community , alliance and religion and that made me think that.

  21. In the poem the author was trying to tell me about MLK. She was saying that MLK had a dream a big dream that all boys and girls would be treated equally in a good way. The author was also trying to say that when MLK made the I have a dream speech, he made sure he chose his words carefully no matter what other people said. What the author meant when she said “the sturdy grace of brother hood” is that MLK understood how to be peaceful no matter what was happening.

  22. In the poem 'Martin Luther King' it means to me that he had a great dream and a kind heart. I think Eileen Spinelli meant that he understood that people should not be judged by the color of their skin and we need each other. When she writes "the sturdy grace of brotherhood", I think she means he understands that we are all the same and we can all develop a good friendship like being brother or sisters and really caring for each other. When she said "All hearts can sing", I think that meant everybody has the possibility to be nice even if they are at first mean.

  23. The poem Martin Luther KingJr. by Eileen Spinelli makes Think about freedom. The first stanza is about the story grace of brotherhood. I believe that it means that black and white should be United together like Brothers instead of fighting each other. The Second stanza is about that simple joy gently bless each girl and boy. When she means that simple joy she is talking about is in the first stanza, brotherhood. She wants black and white people all over the world to have that brotherhood. The third stanza is join hands. We cannot walk alone. I think this means we cannot do it: walk for there rights , without everyone. The fourth and last stanza is all hearts can sing: this is our hope .... let freedom ring. When he says all hearts can sing I think he means all life maters, this is our hope I think that means there hope is that they will be able to be treated equally. When they say let freedom ring I think it means they hope freedoms will continue to happen to all people to fight for rights.

  24. n the poem, Martin Luther King, Jr by Eileen Spinelli, and illustrated by Steven Walker, they show that Martin Luther King, Jr understood that segregation was wrong, in stanza one. In the second stanza, what he was dreaming, was that there was no segregation. When he was a child, there was a lot of keeping the races separated, and he didn’t want that to continue. In the third stanza, they are saying that many other people didn’t want segregation either, and he needed everyones help to change things in the world. In the fourth stanza, it says “he had a dream all hearts can sing” they mean that all people are the same, that underneath the skin, everyone is the same, we can all sing, we can all dance, and once everyone realizes this, we will all achieve freedom. This is exactly what Martin Luther King, Jr meant with his important message, I have a dream.
