I think Lynn's character trait is forgiveness. I know this because when Katie threw the milk bottle, Lynn didn't want to have the dog hurt his tongue and she got the hose and the sprayed the dog and the dog ran away. Another reason is that Katie said that Lynn forgive's everybody and animal. I think that Lynn forgive's people because she wants to be a good role model for Katie and she wants Katie to be like her. For example she saved Katie's life and she wants Katie to do that as well for other people. Another reason is that Lynn wants Katie to forgive like she does. One lesson I learned from reading is family. I know this because when the dog attacked Katie Lynn came and saved her but then Lynn was in trouble and Katie saved Lynn's life. This show that Katie and Lynn love each other. Another reason is that when Katie was little Lynn taught her her first word which was Kira-Kira. This shows that they are true family. This is from the book Kira-Kira.
ReplyDeletei agree and when i was reading the paseg i saw that and i was like wow
DeleteI would say Lynn is a forgirveful person because yes, the dog almost hurt her really bad but she also helped the dog by making the dog run away so it would not get hurt, she had feelings for the dog even tho it almost hurt Lynn really bad.Katie on the other hand did not care about the dog she tried to kill the dog and when Lynn said the dog was going to get her Katie said, "who cares?".
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because the dog could've gotten hurt but Lynn got the hose and the dog ran away.
DeleteIn " Kira Kira" I think that one of Lynn's character traits is kind and loveing. I think this because even though it tried to hurt her, Lynn saved the dog from cutting it's toungh really badly on the glass on the street when he was licking up all the milk on the street. This is kind and loveing because the dog just tried to hurt her and she saved it anyway. I think hat Lynn acts like she does because she thinks of animals as people. I think this is good because, how would you feel if someone knew you would cut your toungh and didn't tell you because you had been a little mean to them and were just trying to protect yourself. One lesson I can learn is not to trat animals as if they are not living, treat them as you would treat yourself.
ReplyDeleteI like how you stated that animals are like us, and are trying to survive and we hurt them a lot, so I think the dog thought that they were going to harm him, so he wanted to defend himself. Or maybe the dog was just crazy from being so hungry because he couldn't find anything to eat. It looked like he had no owner too.
DeleteI think Lynn is courageous, loving and loyal. My text evidence is:
ReplyDelete1. She pulled the dog's tail so that her little sister Cynthia could run away from the dog.
She came out of the house and faced the dog again.
That takes courage.
2. In paragraph 4, Lynn's sister said Lynn would stay with her constantly when they were not in school. In paragraph 7, Lynn told her sister she was "the best sister in the world!" Those were loving things to do.
3. When Cynthia was scared and called her, Lynn came back.
Lynn protected Cynthia from the dog. She was a loyal sister.
The main thing that motivates Lynn to behave like she does, is love. She loves the dog, so she made sure it didn't hurt its tongue with glass shreds. She loves her little sister more than she loves the dog and that is why she pulled dog's tail for her little sister. She loves everything in the world, and that is why she forgives the people (and animals) even if they try to kill you and bite your leg off.
One of the lessons I learned is:
If you do something good you will be rewarded with something good.
My text evidence is:
When Cynthia was crying, Lynn said "You are the best sister in the world". Her reward was Cynthia stopping crying.
When Lynn pulled the dog's tail, her reward was Cynthia saving her life.
Lynn is brave. I know this because in the text she saved Katie’s life by grabbing the dog’s tail and telling Katie to run. Lynn is nice. She runs out of the corn field when she hears Katie crying and scares the dog off with water to keep him from cutting his mouth. I learned the girls looked at the same thing different.
ReplyDeleteLynn is careful loving and brave. She did alot. She saved her little sister from that bad dog. This shows that Lynn is brave, loving and caring. She grabed the dogs tail back so the dog wont get to her little sister
ReplyDeleteI agree because with your text evidence Jose because holding a dog back you don't even know is a really brave thing and I could never do be able to do that.
DeleteIn Kira-Kira I would describe Lynn as a very brave and and admirable sister because Lynn was brave and admirable to fight the crazy dog and let her sister Katie run to safety. I think she motivated to act this way is from Katie because Lynn always acted this way[admirable older sister] to be the best sister she can be.For example she fought the dog for Katie so she could would be safe. Another example she teached her the word Kira-Kira. One lesson from this is always be there for each other because Lynn save Katie's life and Katie save Lynn's life.
ReplyDeletei think Lynns character trait is brave because she chased a dog away form her sister and she pulled the dogs tail and saved her sister form getting hurt. and she is also loving cause first she saved Katie and second she did not want to hurt the dog so she did something nicer to the dog to get it away. i think Lynn acts this way because she really loves animals and her sister and wants her sister to be brave too. one of the lessons from Kira Kira is be BRAVE i know this because Lynn was brave against that dog and she was brave to save her sister. another lesson is to be loving i know this because Lynn was loving to her sister by saving her and she was loving to the dog cause she noticed what would hurt the dog and stopped that thing from happening.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that Lynn was very loving because a normal person would've just left the dog on the street and had no sympathy for the dog. But unlike that, Lynn was considerate and made sure the dog did not cut his tongue because it looked like he had a tough enough life.
DeleteLynn is a nice and loving big sister she dose not teas her little sister like some other sisters do but instead she cares about her little sister and wants her to be safe. For instance when Lynn ran after the dog and herd her little sister start to cry she ran back to her to see if she was ok and she was also when the dog was ripping her little sisters pants she pulled the dog away. This is what motivates Lynn to behaves nice to her sister because here well is the text evidence for how she behaves: so in the text she saves her little sister bye the dog and she see’s if her little sister is ok when she starts to cry and she dose not just leave her there. A lesson I learned in this story is to not teas your little sibling and to care about them and see if they are all right when they cry and I should fallow this lesson because I always teas my little brother.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about everything that you said but next time I want you to be a little more clear.
DeleteThe character traits in story are loving and happy. I say that because, Lynn was loving to her sister Katie and she was grateful that Katie was her sister. The Character's motivation in the story is to complete what you did and be glad that you have what you have. The Author's message in the story was to be grateful for what you have and your dreams and wishes will always come true.
ReplyDeleteIn Kira-Kira, Lynn is selfless. I think that because when Katie was being attacked by the grey dog, Lynn grabbed the dog so Katy could run. She let herself be attacked a little by the dog so her sister would not be attacked.
ReplyDeleteLynn is motivated to be selfless because she cares about her sister. Her selflessness motivates her to help her little sister.
You learn from Lynn to try to be selfless as much as you can, especially if someone is in danger or needs your help.
I think the character trait for Lynn in the book Kira-Kira by Kadohata Cynthia is she is caring. I think this because she is always looking out for her little sister, example when she is at school she is looking after her sister on her free time. Also I know she is caring because she is teaching Katie her first words Kira-Kira. My final reason is when the dog all most bit of her leg,but when Katie throw the milk carton it broke the dog was about to drink the milk and cut its tung Lynn hosed down the dog so he did not cut his tung even thou the dog all most bit her leg of. A lesson I learned is even thou some one hurt you, but when there going to get hurt help them.
ReplyDeleteIn the story, Kira-Kira, Lynn is selfless and brave. I know this because when the scary gray dog endangered Katie, Lynn told Katie to run. Instead of Katie getting hurt, Lynn gave herself up and got hurt instead. This shows that Lynn is Selfless.
ReplyDeleteThe Reason that Lynn behaves this way is because she loves her sister and takes it upon great responsibility to keep her safe. Text evidence for this is that everywhere in the text, Lynn is teaching Katie something, showing her something. They stick together as a team and help each other.
A lesson that I learned from reading Kira-Kira is to take risks to help the ones you love.
Lynn and Katie show this when they fight together to get the dog away.
This is what I learned from Kira-Kira.
One of Lynn’s character traits is that she was unselfish. The thing that motivated Lynn is her love for her little sister. I know this because after she saved her little sister, she saved the dog that harmed her and her sister. Another reason is Lynn thought her sister saved her life, and gave her all the glory. A lesson you can learn from the story is that people are always there for you. I know this because the author depended on her big sister, Lynn to take care of her and teach her things. Lynn taught her about how to pronounce kira-kira, and how eyes and the ocean have deep colors but are also see through.
ReplyDeleteI think one of lynn character traits is that she is loving because when katie though the milk the dog tongue was going to get cut so lynn took the hose and sprayed it at the dog so he wounldn't cut his tongue.I think what motivates lynn to act that way because she loves her sister and family that she acts that the dog is her sister so she protected him from being hurt just like how she protects her sister.I also think kira kira means that you should forgive people because when the dog atacked her after he ran to the milk she forgived him and saved him from hurting his tongue.
ReplyDeleteI think that Lynn is empathetic because when the dog ran to get the milk off the floor Lynn said that the dog would hurt it's tongue on the grass if it tried to get the milk so Lynn used the hose to get the dog to run off even though the dog was hurting her and ripping her clothes. I also think that Lynn is brave because she wasn't scared of the dog and she pulled it's tail to help her sister. I think Lynn's motivation is Katie because Lynn loves Katie so much that she pulled the dog back so Katie could run away. One lesson that I learned from this passage is that love is stronger then hate because Lynn made the dog run away so it wouldn't hurt it's tongue on the glass. This shows that love is stronger then hate because when the dog was attacking her she probably had this hate feeling like this dog is attacking why won't it stop but when she got free she forgot about the hate feeling and went back to loving.
ReplyDeleteI think that Lynn character trait is to forgive. a example is when Katie through the milk at the dog and the glass went everywhere and the dog wen to lick it up but Lynn did not want the dog to get hurt and caught it tongue so she got the whose and spared the water on the dog to make it go away. another reason is because she is Katies model because Lynn is her big sister so Lynn wants to make a good impression to show her what to do when she grows up. I think that the it shows a good bond because Lynn helped her from the dog and then she helped Lynn.
ReplyDeleteBravery is one of Lynn’s character traits. She is a kind, loving, brave sister unlike some sisters or brothers in the world. I know this because when the dog attacked the girls Lynn grabbed the dog by the tail and told Katie to run home to save her sister from getting hurt. What motivates Lynn to behave the way she does is because she is a good sister. Also in paragraph seven Lynn says: “you are the best little sister in the world”. That is what a loving sister would say. A lesson in the story I learned is always be there for each other even if you do not get along well as family.
ReplyDeleteSome character traits about Katie are that she is a loving ad caring person
ReplyDeleteand she is also sensitive and tender. But she is also very strong in her
heart. What makes her act that way is that she has a loving sister that cares for her so
she is used to to being loved not hurt. The lesson that I learned is that just because
something is being mean to you does not mean you be mean to them.
A character trait that describes Lynn is caring. I know this because in the street when the dog was going to cut his tongue from drinking the milk Lynn ran the dog away with the hose so it won't cut it's tongue even thought it was ripping Lynn and Katie's pants. I think what motivates Lynn to behave the way she does is her relationship with Katie. I think this because Lynn and her sister always try to save each other from danger the best they can. One lesson I learned from reading Kira-Kira is that you will always have a friend, sibling ,or parent that will look out for you. The reason I think this is because when Lynn got dragged into the corn field by the dog right away Katie went to look for her.
ReplyDeleteLynn'a character trait is kind because even after the dog attacked her, Lynn wanted to make sure the dog didn't hurt his tongue. She also comforted her sister when she was crying, and she saved her from the dog by holding his tail.
ReplyDeleteWhat motivates her to do the actions she does is kindness.
"Later when the dog attacked me, Katie saved my life" Lynn wrote in her diary. This indicates that she thinks Katie saved her life, but really she saved Katie's life. Usually when people are kind sometimes they don't even know it.
One lesson from the story is that you shouldn't just think of your point of view, but somebody else's.
