Think about what we have learned so far about fractions.
Are fractions just another way of expressing division? Is division just another way of expressing fractions?
Explain your thinking with at least two specific examples.

Fractions are another way of expressing division because you are dividing parts of a whole number. Another reason is when you take away from a full number it's like dividing. For example, 38÷8=4 with 6 left 12/8 is 1 with 4 left over.
ReplyDeletedivision is compared to fractions is that
ReplyDeletetheir kind of the same thing and it helps
you with math
What I have learned about fractions is similar to division. Fractions is just another way of expressing division and division is just another way of expressing fractions, becasue you are just writing it in a simple way.
ReplyDeleteyes because you can make a number into tens t hen you can divide the numerator into the denominator which had been turned into the tens.for example you can have 12/6 and turn the 6 into and 60 divided 12=6.fractions and division can be used for fractions can be used for division.you can use each operation to solve problems.
ReplyDeleteDivision is another way of expressing fractions because you can take the denominator of a fraction, that can be divided into the numerator except you have to add a zero to the numerator, for example: the fraction of 5 / 5 (1 whole) and then 5 ÷ 50 = 10. Another way is to do the same thing as the first example except you can also use decimal points and subtraction, for example the fraction of 6 / 7 and then 7 ÷ 60 = 8.4, 60 - 56 = 4
ReplyDeleteFraction and division are the same because all you are doing in division is dividing your denominator into your numerator. For example 4/2 divided by two equals 2. because when you divide a fraction you turn your denominator into your numerator. 2 times 2 equals 4.
ReplyDeleteYes Division is another way of expressing fractions because 6 divided by 6=1 and 6/6 =one whole.
ReplyDeleteIts a little bit the same because like one third is equal to three divided by one so yeah they are the same or like 3/12 is equal to twelve divided divided by four
ReplyDeleteYes Division is just another way of expressing Fractions .One example is there is a Division strategy for Fractions.Another example is Fractions are Division for example one half is a whole divided into two equal parts.
ReplyDeleteyes division is the opposite of multiplication. One reason is that division is just the opposite of multiplication, so for example you could do five times six equals thirty, another way of finding it out is thirty divided by six is five.
ReplyDeleteYes because if you have two different fractions and on the bottom they don't have the same number you can use division to help.
ReplyDeleteDivision and fractions are the same because division is just another way of expressing a fraction. For example, if you had a circle and you split it in 10 pieces and took
ReplyDelete9 away that would be 1 divided by 10 = one tenth.
Another example is that you could have 100% as 1 so you could do 100 divided by 3 = one third.
You can use division to solve fraction problems, for example one divided by two is one half so division is very useful when you need to solve fraction problems.
ReplyDeletedivision is another way to express fractions.
ReplyDeleteFor example 2/6 is 6 split in to 2 equal parts .Another example is there is a division way to solve fractions.
A fraction is another way of doing division. I am saying that because you have numbers and when you divide the numbers it is division. For example, 3/4 = 3 ÷ 4. Another example is 3/21=3÷21.
ReplyDeleteYes, division is the same as fraction because the denominator is divided by the numerator. An example is six twelves is one half in a division way you would write twelve divided by six is two. Another example is two sixth is the same as six divided by two is three. When you write a fraction the line that is between the numerator and the denominator means divide.
ReplyDeleteI believe that division is the same as a fractions. A great example is that both division and fractions are both separated by a horizontal line. Division can help you maintain order within a fraction by known what number gets divided first.
ReplyDeleteDivision is the same thing as fractions because the denominator is divided from the numerator. For example
ReplyDelete6/12 is one half just in a division way example: 12 divided by 6 = 2.Another example is 2/6 is the same as 6 divided by 2= 3
Division is similar to fractions. Division is figuring out how a number can fit into another number. Divisions are the opposite of multiplication. A fraction represents a number that is part of a whole.
ReplyDeleteDivision is the same as fractions because the denominator can go into the numerator, it sets up the problem you are trying to do. For example, 1/2 is 1 divided by 2.
ReplyDeleteFractions are basically division. For example when I order fractions I use the division way because if I want to figure out if ¾ is larger or 2/3 is larger I use the division way. It tells you if fractions are greater than less than or equal. For ¾ and 2/3 I got 7.2 for ¾ and 6.2 for 2/3 doing the division way. So ¾ is greater than 2/3.
ReplyDeleteDivision and fractions are the same. For example 1/2 is one half and 1 is half of 2.
ReplyDeleteDivision has to do with fractions because when you use division and a fraction all you are doing is splitting.
ReplyDeleteDivision goes with fractions because 7/8 is 7 divided by 8.
