The books Who was Nelson Mandela and Who was Jackie Robinson are similar because they both believe that everyone is equal. I know this because in the first book Nelson spent 27 years in prison due to fighting against apartheid. (Apartheid : Keeping two races apart such as black and white). Another piece of evidence is that in the book, Nelson found out that the only way to gain right's was through protests, even though they were illegal.I also know this because in the second book, Jackie Robinson was told to move to the back of the bus but he said "Leave me alone!"Another example is that once when Jackie was in the army, Jackie and the army were on a bus and they needed to buy gas from a white owner. That was fine but the owner wouldn't let the men use the bathroom because of their race. Jackie said that it was okay and they could go somewhere else. That is how I know that they are the same in they both believe that everyone is equal.
ReplyDeleteThe books are different because they had two different careers. I know this because in first article Nelson was an activist fighting for equal rights. Another example is that due to Nelson protesting he became president of South Africa. I also know this because in the second book it mentioned that Jackie was good at sports and was always chosen for a certain sport. Another piece of evidence is that due to his skill Jackie was playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers and was voted into the National Baseball hall of fame. This is how I know they are different in they had 2 different careers.
The books The Great Gilly Hopkins and Sheep are similar because they both are foster kids and have lost their homes.
ReplyDeleteFor example, Gilly is a foster child who has been taken to a foster home which at the beginning she thinks she hates because she misses her mother but at the end she grows close to the family and learns to love them. It was also her 3rd foster home.
Also, Sheep is about a border collie puppy (not a person) who was carried away from his home and he goes to about 1 good home and 2 very abusive homes. He thinks he just wants to be alone but he learns he can't manage. He has to walk all the way to get to an orphanage and finds a little boy named Luke who cares deeply for him and loves him very much, and he gave him his very best name: Jack. They work together to get picked for a home and end up in a very nice home. That is how I know the books are similar.
I know that they are different because they are not from the same perspective, and Gilly is a girl and Jack is a puppy. I think that the perspectives matter because Gilly and Jack were treated differently, and Jack had to learn that he had to go with something every time because he could not join in with his opinion (he can't talk) while Gilly could talk about how she felt. That is how I know the the books are different.

The books Indian's Captive and Trouble river are similar because they are both about Indian racism. I know this because in the book Trouble river it said ''The indian's could show up any second, and they won't hesitate to shoot us''. This shows that the indian's wanted to take down any white people they saw any white people with ant chance they had. It also said ''We have to get out of here before the idians attack again''. This shows that some white people where sacred to face the indian's and with any chance they had they would run from them. In the seond book, Indian's Captive it said '' The Indian's had invaded my house and took my family captive''. This shows that some Indian's didn't care about taking kids family's away from them. It also said ''The Jemison's family had all been killed by the Idian's, run while toy can''. This shows that nobody wanted to go against the Indian's.
ReplyDeleteThe articals are diffrent because Trouble river is mostly based on running away from the indians and Indian's Captive is about Reliezing that Indian's are not such bad people and are going through everything white people are. I Know this because in the first artical, Indian's Captive it said ''I became to close to the indian's to run away from, even whe they gave me a chance to''. It also said '' The Indian's didn't hurt me, they acually taught me about all sorts of things, likethe earth, plants, and it's creatures. I also know this because in the second artical it said, ''I would rather face wolves and rapids than speak with the Indians''. This shows that some people never changed there minds about Indian's and always thought of them as horrible people. It also said '' When ever I see a Indian I will take him down, no matter what. This show that people will never except a indian. That is how I know that the articals are ssimilar and diffrent.
I mean books, not articles
DeleteThe book Escaping the big wave and the book Holes are similar because they both have very dangerous problems. I know this because in the first book one of the problems is the main character is stuck at a vacation with a bully that always punches him. The other problem is a tsunami came to where he was staying so he had to run really far away. I also no this because in Holes the main character needed to go to a juvenile detention camp. There is a chance he will be bitten by scorpions, rattlesnakes, and yellow spotted lizards. That is how I know they are similar. The books are different because they have problems on two different levels. I know this because in the first book the character's are in danger of being swept by the tsunami. They are also in danger of losing their parents. I also know this because in the second book they are in danger of being poisoned to death. He also might get really thirsty and hot since v it would be really hot and he would be tierd from digging alot of holes. That is why the stories are different.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about the articles I read today. Something that is similar about the ones that I read in school are they are both about the animals in the wild. I know this because in the first article it spoke about how frogs were endangered like the Glass Frogs. It told about how people were sometimes the cause of the frog's being extinct or endangered. Like wood choppers cut down wood to make homes and furniture. I also know this because in the second article it spoke about how they were tracking down, observing and checking up on koalas like Yellow and her baby. The people shook the tree where the koalas were and held out a bag for Yellow and her baby to fall in so the people could check on them. And why they are different is because the main ideas are really different. In the first article it was about the frogs being in danger and scientists trying to help them for example in the text it said that scientists asked the government if they could have parks to protect the frogs habitat. In the second article it was about people tracking down koalas and observing and checking them for example they tracked down Yellow and her baby and did a check up on her to make sure they were ok.
ReplyDeleteThe books Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks are similar because they both believed that blacks and whites should not be segregated. I noticed because in the first book it said Martin Luther King Jr. made a march for non violence, I also know because he gave his'I have a dream speech' in which he said that one day my four little children will not be judged by the color of their skin, but for their personality. In the second book, I know that Rosa Parks believed that we should all have equal rights.I know this because she refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man. she got arrested, and she said she was willing to get arrested. She started a boycott, a boycott means a protest where you refuse to take a service or buy a product. I also know this because she marched with Martin L. King Jr. for their rights and was chose as a leader. The difference Martin L. King Jr. and Rosa Parks was Martin L King Jr. got arrested for protesting, and Rosa Parks got arrested for breaking a segregation law. In the first book it said Martin L. King Jr. preached having rights. He gave speeches about how they should use non violence, and Rosa Parks did not give speeches. Also, Martin Luther King Jr used marches and speeches, while Rosa Parks used boycotting and willing to get arrested for equality. Rosa Parks worked at the NAACP foundation. Martin L. King Jr. worked as a preacher. That's how I know they different.
ReplyDeletethe aritcles that i read in class are simalira because they both talk about how they follow the animals to learn more about there evironment and that they both try to save the animals from the evironmental issuse. The articles are diffrant because the 1st articles talk about how they build parks to help the frogs and in the 2nd article talks about how they track down the koalas to learn more about there evironment and the koalas habitat and they need to check them up and observing the koalas and there habiat and there enviormental issuse.
ReplyDeleteThe book "Gostopolis" and "Escaping The Giant Wave" are similar because they both have big problems! I know this because in the first book a kid named Garth gets sent into a place where there are dangerous monsters. Another thing is he has a very bad sickness so we don't know what will happen to him at the end. In the second book a thirteen year old boy named Kyle who is going on vacation with his sister, Beebee. A earth quake has began and a huge tsunami (pronounced sue-NAH-mee). I also know this because Kyle is also going on vacation with a bully at school called Daren Hazelton Snicker. That is how I know they are similar.
ReplyDeleteThey are different because one book talks about a kid trying to get back into the regular world and the second book talks about a kid going on vacation. I know this because in the first book the text says" I had sent a boy to a monster world. Another example in the text it talks about how he gets trapped and gets sent into a monster world and visits the people who were born before Garth. In the second book Kyle's parents had a convention party and Kyle had never been on a plane before. I also know this because Kyle's parents had a brochure about where they were heading. That is how I know they are different.
the two tv shows I watch are ADVETURE TIME AND AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL. ARE SIMULAR BY HOW THERE BOTH TALK ABOUT RANDOM STUFF. FOR EXANPLE'' I LOVE HOT DOGS''. ONE OF THE CHARACTERS SAY
ReplyDeleteThe books Percy Jackson and Harry Potter are similar because they are both fiction. I know this because in Harry Potter (the 1st book) it said “Hagred shot a spell at Harry’s brother and it gave him a pig tail. Another example is that in the 3rd book Harry rode a Hipagriph around the lake with a sea monster in it. An example for Percy Jackson (the 1st book) is that it said “Percy you know all the Greek gods and things well there all real. Another example is that it said in the 4th book “I am a 100 handed one” (he was a person with 100 hands). That is how I know they are the same.
ReplyDeleteThey are different because Percy Jackson is about Greek myths and Harry Potter is about magic. I know this because in Percy Jackson Grover was wearing these flying boots that almost flew him into tartaric. Another example is that Percy and his friends went up to olipace and met the gods there. An example for harry Potter is that Harry road a dragon out of the magic bank with goblins in it. My final example is that Harry potter goes to a wand shop and tests out his wand and shoots spells at things. That is how I know they are different.
The TV shows "Liv and Maddie" and "Girl meets World" are similar because both shows are about two best friends on a journey.I know this because in the first show "Liv and Maddie" they talks about how two best friends are apart because Liv goes to Hollywood for an acting gig and when she gets back to Wisconsin she has to rebuild her relationship with Maddie.I also know this because in the second show Girl meets World they talk about how Riley and Mia go on this journey of friendship and how they help there friends even though Mia say's she's a rebel. That is how I know these shows are the same.
ReplyDeleteThe shows are different because in Girl meets World they talk about best friends but in Liv and Maddie they talk about TWIN SISTERS.I know this because in the first show Liv and Maddie they talk about any old thing because in the last episode they talked about how Maddie lost her twin charms that Liv gave her.I also know this because in the second show Girl meets World they talk about things like how janitors work hard to keep our school clean and we don't say thank you, they also talk about bullying and other things like that. That is how I know these shows are different.
The movie 42 about Jackie Robinson and Selma are similar because they both talk about racism in America. I know this because in 42 they talk about how in back in the day there were white and black restraints. I also know this because in 42 they were shocked by the news that there was a black baseball player in the white leagues. I know this because in Selma when Dr. King went to a white restaurant a guy punched him because he knew Dr. King was an activist. I also know this because in Selma they protested for racial equality. This how I know these movies are similar.
ReplyDeleteThese two movies are also different because one is more about activism and one is about a baseball players career. I know this because in 42 it shows Jackie Robinson and his career in the negro league, also , his career in the white league. I know this because in Selma it shows activists marching on the Edmund Pettis bridge. I also know this because the whole movie was centered around race. This shows these two movies are also different.
The books clue of the broken locket and the whispering statue [nancy drew mysteries] are similar because both have a large group of criminals who nancy apprehends. I know this because in the first book when they confessed at the end it was revealed that the people that were involved were the Driscoll brothers, webby, jake, neal raskin, and mrs.driscoll. I also know this because in the second book the criminals were from the bookstore and other places: Marco De Keer the sculptor, Mr. Atkin, Mr. Basswood, and trunk rasson. That is how I know the books are similar.
ReplyDeletethe books are different because one takes place in waterford and the other in misty lake. I know this because in the first book it says “ At a cabin on misty lake, in maryland. Would you like to go there and find out what has happened to a certain Mr winch?” I also know this because in the second book it said “If you’re willing, Mrs. Merriam, I should like Nancy, Bess, and George to go to Waterford without me and stay at your yacht club.” That is how I know the articles are different.
The two shows Clarence and The Amazing World Of Gumball are similar because the Main characters are always doing something dumb or silly or creative and still find some crazy way to get out of it. For example in Clarence in one episode Clarence and his friend sumo chase after a lizard that leads them to good fortune. Also in The Amazing World Of Gumball there was an episode where he tried to find a job to reaped a bill but failed so many times at the easiest things in the world. This is how I know they are the same. The two shows Clarence and The Amazing World Of Gumball are different because in Clarence there are funny stories but in The Amazing World Of Gumball they are wacky adventures. For example in Clarence there was a nature trip that got out of hand (including a car breaking down). Also in the amazing world of Gumball two kids were fighting over who gets to study with a kid.
ReplyDeleteThe two movies I have watched recently was Annie and Alexander the terribly bad day. They each had a problem Annie who was the main character in the movie "Annie". She was in a foster home and she had lost her family. While Alexander who was also the main character in the movie thought that he was unlucky. In both movies they wind up resolving their problems and having a great day. Annie finds a new family and Alexander has a lucky day after all. They are each different because Annie in the beginning doesn't have a family and Alexander does. The setting's are different as well Annie is a musical. The cast would sing songs throughout the movie like the " Sun will come out tomorrow ". While Alexander showed a day in the life of Alexander, and was trying to solve his problem of being unlucky.
ReplyDeleteBud not Buddy, and Becoming Naomi Leone, are similar because in both of the stories, the main characters have problems with their parents. I know this because in the story Bud, not Buddy, Bud doesn't know where his father is, this shows how hard it must be for him and I also know this because Bud's mom died when he was six. This shows that he has no one to look after him. I also know this because in Becoming Naomi Leone, Naomi hasn't seen her mother in years, and when she does see her, Naomi finds out what a terrible mother she is. I also know this because at first, Naomi doesn't even know who her father is, and when she meets him, she has to fight to keep him. That is how I know they are both similar.
ReplyDeleteThey are different because they are trying to solve their parents' problems in two completely different ways. I know this because in Bud not Buddy, Bud is sneaking the whole way to meet his grandfather, but he thinks it's his father. I know this because first Bud escaped from the home, That shows one example for Bud sneaking away to see his grandfather. I also know this because, after that when he was two thirds through his trip, he had to duck in the bushes when he saw cars coming by. I also know this because in the book Becoming Naomi Leone, Naomi was basically trying to get away from her mom. This shows she doesn't like her mom. I also know this because while she was running away from her mom, she was trying to get to her dad. That is how I know they are both different.
The books Bud Not Buddy and the Gold Cadillac are the same because they both talk about racism. I know this because in Bud Not Buddy Ms.Amos said"I don't have time to put up with the foolishness of the members of our race that don't want to be uplifted". I also know this because when Bud was at the mission he saw a big poster. The poster had a rich white family. In the poster there was a really nice car and the little girl was waring fancy clothes and so was the rest. This kinda made me think that in the old days white people were respected better than black people. In the Gold Cadillac when Lois and her family were going to Mississippi Lois saw some signs. The signs said "white only". I also know this because when the police stopped Wilbert they told him to spread eagle. They told him to do that because the cadillac was really good and since they were black they assumed he stole it. That is how I know they are the same.
ReplyDeleteThe books are different because in Bud Not Buddy the story is about a foster kid that experiences a life with barley any care. The Gold Cadillac is about what happened after Wilbert got the the cadillac. I know this because in the first book Bud didn't have a mom and he went to foster homes. He mother died when he was when he was 6. It was his third forster home which he ran away from. Towards the end of the book Bud gets some care. I also know this because instead of Bud home in bed sleeping he slept on the street. He also slept with the knife because he didn't feel safe. He also took a risk to hop on the train with no one telling him not to do it. I know this because in the second book the story changed. Lois started to have fear of racism. I know this because when her father Wilbert was caught and when he came back to the car she slept with a knife. I also know this because when they returned the cadillac she was proud of the car she used to have, even though it was not so good as the cadillac that is how I know they are different.
The TV shows I watch, Uncle Grandpa and Clarence, are similar because they are both silly shows. I know this because the first show, Uncle Grandpa, is about this person who helps other people. I know this because one of Uncle Grandpa's show is how do you open a juice box and listen to your parents. I also know this because in the second show, Clarence, it's about this boy and three other boys named Sumo and Jeff. Sumo is not that smart and Jeff is a kid who gets all A+'s. I know this because one of Clarence episodes is how Clarence gets mud over his eyes and he thought it was skin and another episode is how Clarence stole Jeff's French fries and how Jeff said if you take my fries I am going to kill you. That is how I know they are the same.
ReplyDeleteThey are both different because they have different characters. I know this because the characters in Clarence are Clarence, Sumo and Jeff. I also know this because in Uncle Grandpa the characters are Uncle Grandpa, Pizza Steve, Mr. Gus and giant realistic flying tiger. That is how I know they are different.
The books Stanford Wong Flunks Big Time and Millicent Min are similar because it's about both of their summers. I know this because in the first book it says that he hates the fact that Min is tutoring him because they are sworn enemies for life. Another example is at the fair, Stanford starts to dance with Millicent Min. I also know this because in the second book Millicent Min and Stanford become closer together with a lie. My last example is at the fair Stanford goes on Monstroso with Min and Emily. This is how I know these books are different.
ReplyDeleteThese books are different because one book is from Mins perspective and one book is from Stanford's prespectics. I know this because in the first book Stanford flunks 7th grade and has to go to summer school. Another example is that Stanford's grandmother has to go to Vacation Village. I also know this because in the second book Mins grandmother goes to a lot of different places. My last example is that Min is a senior in high school because she skipped grades.
Comparing and contrasting the “How to Train Your Dragon” book and movie series. These are similar because they both take place in Berk, basically a giant rock in the middle of the Barbaric ocean, and Hiccup’s father is Stoik the Vast. I know this because in the movie, Stoik yells at Hiccup when he doesn’t kill a dragon, and Berk gets attacked by dragons almost ever night. In the books, Vikings already half sided with the dragons, and Stoik yells at Hiccup, he doesn’t yell at slave dragons. This is how I know they are the same.
ReplyDeleteThese are different, because in the book, Toothless is not a riding dragon, but in the movies he is. And at the end of the book and movie, they fight a Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus, but in the movie they fight off of Berk. In the book, Toothless is a different species of dragon, and the movie that species of dragons isn’t in the book. This is how I know these are different.
