The Boston Tea Party:
ReplyDeleteHundreds of people packed british tea on a ship and throwed more than 342 packs of tea (45 tons) into the ocean. While they were doing this they dressed up as indians so they wouldn't be accused of it. The british got very angry when they did this because they needed the money that they paid for the tea to pay for all of the matierials they losti in war.
A fact that I know is the Boston Tea Party is about colonists and townspeople throwing boxes of tea into the Boston Harbor. Because the British were taxing their tea a long with every day goods and things like playing cards. So they protested by not using the items for example clothes. Instead of buying clothes with the taxes they made them themselves. And instead of buying and drinking the taxed tea they through it into the Boston Harbor as a protest. I like that because they stood up fir themselves. Another fact I know is that George Washington was the Army General which is why people call him General Washington sometimes. That interests me because it seems like he must have done a pretty good job to become the General. I want to do a good job so I can have a good future like him. He is important to the war because he was a big help to stopping the British. Another fact I know is when the people finally agreed to have more peace and independence the Declaration of Independence was made. It is important to the war because it showed peace and independence to the people and it helped end the war. I am glad we have freedom as well s freedom of speech and independence in this country. I hope all the soldiers who died helping the Patriots have the satisfaction that they were a big help.
ReplyDeleteOne of my topics was on the Sugar Act.
ReplyDeleteIn 1764, Parliment passed the Sugar Act, also known as the American Revenue Act. Law raised tax in goods such as sugar, coffee and textiles. Also, the law limited which goods Americans could sell to foreign countries. Some Americans protested against the Sugar Act, and soon most Americans were protesting, too. Lawmakers from New York and Massachusetts said the Sugar Act violated their relationship with the British government. But, Parliment did not agree and they soon introduced to Stamp Act.
Some facts I'd like to share is that in 1777 the continental congress approved the concept of the American flag and asked Ross if she wanted to sew it.
ReplyDeleteAnother fact is that over 300 buildings were set on fire in N.Y. after the patriots left.
My final fact is that on December 16,1773, the Patriots disguised as Native Americans boarded 3 British ships with a goal to overthrow over 300 tea chests.
These facts were important because of 3 things: We wouldn't have an American flag or a sign of independence, we wouldn't have shown that we are powerful and can't be taken for granted.
After seeing these 3 facts, I hope they were interesting to you.
My first fact that there was a battle where the British lost 60 men dead, 200 wounded and 825 captured but the Patriots only lost 12 men dead and 2 wounded in the battle of Cowpen 1781. My second fact is the Boston Massacre was one of the reasons the Revolutionary war started. My final fact is that the American army was poorly trained and they beat the strongest army. Those are the facts I want to show you.
ReplyDeleteA fact I know is eight Americans were killed and ten were wounded. The next day a company of minutemen met British troops at Lexington, Massachusetts. The British were attacked by the Americans because they were hiding behind rocks and trees. The British had a lot of money. The British had over 700 soldiers and the Americans only had 75 people trying to win the war.
ReplyDeleteeight americans were killed and 10 were wouded. The next day a mintemem met brithsh troops at lexington. The british were attaked by minutemem hiding behind trees and rocks. The revolutionary war had began.the colonits began training their troops for war.in 1772;samuel adams,a colonial leader in boston established committees of correspondence to keep communtcation open bewteen massachusetts.
ReplyDeletedid you know that on March, 22 1776 a law was made. but this stamp act forced colonists to buy newspapers/leagal docoumants or playing cards.but not all of the members agrred with this law.The tea act Did you know that on May 1773 it started in the east indian british company could only the tea for americans.
ReplyDeleteThe Boston Tea Party, was a time when King George 111 made Americans pay taxes for their tea the American got upset and had a tea party on a ship, and they dumped 45 tons of tea in the ocean. Another reason is when the British and Patriots had a war. The British lost sixty-five men and two hundred wounded. My last reason is when Samuel Adams, went to Boston and protested king Georges's laws, this led to king George the 111 making a new rule stating that people in Boston had to pay taxes for their tea. What I learned was that the Revolutionary War was the fight for our freedom.
ReplyDeleteOne interesting fact I learned about the revolutionary war is that Samuel Adams was John Adams cousin. This fact is interesting to me because because they are both very famous and they were both big parts of the revolutionary war. Another interesting fact I learned was the Boston massacre was just started by a little kid throwing a snowball at a British soldier but then it broke out in to a huge fight. This fact is interesting because it was one of the big things leading to the revolutionary war. My last interesting fact I learned was that George Washington owned 135 slaves. This fact is interesting because I knew George Washington owned slaves but 135! I would not have guessed that!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that happened was the Boston tea party. The patriots were furious at king Gorge ||| because he was taxing them for drinking tea. Back then tea was a very popular drink. Adults and kids drank it. So that night on December 16 some of The Sons Of Liberty and Colonists had gone a British boat and dumped 342 chests of tea into the water. That was 42 tons of tea. Another thing I learned about was the declaration of independence. The could be free and not under British rule and have their own independence. On July 9 when Gorge Washington and his troops took down a statue of king Gorge ||| riding a horse. These are a few things I learned from studying.
ReplyDeleteThe facts that i learned about the revalutanary war where the following fact #1:(The Bosen Tea Party) many people dressed up as mohawks so no one would arrest them and threw gallons and gallons of tea bags of the boat into the ocean. Fact #2:King gorge the 3rd and his british army sent troops down to somewear that people (the sons of liberty) where planning boycotts so he sent troops and one troop shouted "SHOOT" and the english troops killed 11 people and only 2 of the inglish troops where gulty and didnt even go to jail. My final fact is that the english troops in the war thought that gorges army was going to fight on the baddle feld but the amaricans had a totaly diffrent stile of fighting they came out from the bushes and attacted the british like that.

ReplyDeleteThe stamp act was created in 1765 because of the French and Indian war,the British had to pay the dept. Anything that had a stamp you had to pay extra which is the taxes. People protested by saying"no taxation no representation". The colonists got mad because they did not elect an English government. They said it was unfair. England's leader thought it made sense to pay taxes. The colonies started to work hard and together to stop English taxes. Because of the protests England's leader got made an made the price of the taxes higher. The colonists stopped buying English goods. Charity Clark and other women spun wool instead of buying English thread. Charity Clark wrote a letter to a friend in 1769 that said"heroines may not distinguish themselves at the head of the army, but the freedom will also be won by a fighting army of the women armed with spinning wheel". In 1766 the colonists thought that the taxes were over because the British repealed. Sadly next year the parliament created a new set of taxes called the Townshed Act which made the colonists even angrier. These facts were interesting because they tell about how taxes were created and it's history.
ReplyDelete#1
ReplyDeleteOn April 19,1775 the first shot of the revolutionary war was fired at Lexington,Massachusetts. This is important because the revolutionary war had just began.
#2
The Americans thought of themselves as slaves compared to the British. This is important because the British and their leader King George lll especially took advantage of the Americans and they actually started the war because if they hadn't charged the Americans for more money, we all could've avoided this war.
#3 My final fact on the revolutionary war
In 1776 the Americans won the war, this is important because now we know who won in that war and who really put their life out their the most.
when England took over America and since they took
ReplyDeleteover they made them paid tax for tea. Since it was popular
back then to drink tea.The people were upset that they
had to pay taxes. They started protesting they had
signs and posters and flyers out. The British got angry
who ever had posters or papers saying something bad
about the British they are locked up in prison or killed.
For example when a kid was holding a poster about the
the British and how much tax they're paying them. The
boy got caught and got shot in the head. The people
thought they should fight for there freedom. One day a ship came from England with lots of tea in it. People
dressed up as Native Americans to hide their faces from the British so they wouldn't get caught. The people poured out the tea so they didn't have to pay taxes for the tea. After that night the British got angry. At that time the people were looking for a captain for their army. George Washington was chosen to be the captain. And there were not very many people in the army. Instead of meeting the British on the battle field, the Americans hid in bushes and took the British by surprise. They killed the leader of the British. At that time George Washington wanted the states to be together. But King George III wanted them to be separate so he could control them.
I learned that before the Revolutionary War, the British had tea taxes and they were forcing the colonists to pay the taxes.
ReplyDeleteThis is important because I think the colonists thought this was unfair that they were paying British taxes.
I also learned about the Boston massacre and how the British killed children and then said it was by accident.
That's important because it got the colonists mad that the British were killing children. The colonists' leaders were having meetings and discussing what happened. And that lead to the Revolutionary War.
I learned that the Americans had to drag canons to Boston with oxes because in order to kick 9,000 British troops out of Boston they had to have strong fire power.
This is important because Boston was a really important city back then because lots of important things happened in Boston back then like meetings for generals about how they are going to defeat the British.
One of the complains the colonialists had about the British was that they were being taxed a lot. They didn't like having to pay a lot of taxes on things that came from England like tea.
ReplyDeleteTo show their statement that they didn't like the taxes, was the Boston tea party where they threw crates of tea off a ship into the harbor. They were dressed like Indians so they wouldn't be recognized.
The patriots had no cannons but when Henry Knox brought 59 cannons from Fort Ticonderoga, it gave them a much better chance of winning. When the British saw all the 59 cannons stacked in a row, aiming at them, they left 250 of theirs behind.
During the American Revolutionary War there were 13 colonies. Another fact is Great Briton ruled the colonies in America. Another fact is King George III ruled Great Britain. Since 1607 British people came to live in America. There was War between the French and the Great Britain but Great Britain won. The war cost a lot of money and Parliament wanted the colonies to help pay the money. The colonies refused to pay because they had no representation in Parliament. This problem escalated & became the American Revolutionary War. Another name for the American Revolutionary War is War of Independence. I hope you've had and enjoyed my American Revolutionary War facts.
ReplyDeleteI learned that life in the colonies wasn't peaceful after the war. Boston changed in 1773 which made America strengthen there fighting on home soil. They were fighting for a cause. Leadership of Washington and other officers and fine marksmanship. America weakness was being unprofessional poorly trained army , lack of supplies, small navy. England strengths is more soldiers. England was consider the best trained army in the world. Only a third of the people supported the King and they consider themselves loyalist. With few supporters the America continued to fight even though they had many disadvantages and eventually won there independence. The fight was expensive and happened mostly on American soil. Though it had to happen because people were tired of the high taxes.
ReplyDeleteThree things I know about the Revolutionary War are the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party and how the war ended. The Boston Massacre happened on March 5, 1770 when workers and boys started throwing ice balls, oyster shells, garbage and a club against 8 British soldiers. Gunfire was heard “All around the world.” The Boston Tea Party happened when a group of patriots dressed as mohawks boarded ships loaded with tea and dumped it in the harbor. The war ended when a group of patriots got together and created the Declaration of Independence.
ReplyDeleteMy first fact is about the Boston Tea Party. On December 16th, 1773 a large group of colonists threw hundreds and hundreds of British tea chests into the Boston Harbor. They threw 342 chests of tea there. My second fact is about the Stamp Act. The stamp act is when the Parliament put taxes anything printed. For example playing cards, advertisements, newspapers, magazines and so on. My third fact is the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre happened on March, 1770. Colonists were yelling at British private, Hugh White and throwing snowballs at them. When they saw the soldiers had guns then got madder and dared them to shoot. Captain Preston got the colonists to calm down but then someone threw and object and it knocked down private Montgomery. He shot into the crowd leaving 5 people dead.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I found interesting in my research of the Revolutionary War is the Boston Tea Party. On December 16, 1773 some Song of Liberty dressed as Mohawk Indians filled three ships with British Tea. People gathered as the split opened 342 chests of tea and fed 45 pounds of it to the fish.
ReplyDeleteThe song they sang.
"Rally Mohawks
bring out your axes
and tell King George
we'll no taxes
on his foreign tea."
Six months later the British closed the Boston Harbor. Other colonies sent clothes, food, and sheep. The Americans stole about 5000 trunks of tea that year.
