The main problem in my historical fiction book "All of a Kind Family" relates to the time period because the children grew up doing different activities due to their time period. One theme is growing up/ family problems. The author develops that theme because he gives multiple problems that are related to a kids childhood. I know this because the first chapter was Sarah losing a library book; the second, chapter was the kids not wanting to do their chores; and most of the chapters were related to holidays ( one was about going shopping with the mother.); also another chapter was celebrating the fathers birthday. All of these chapters fit under children growing up/family problems.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading in Historical Fiction is "Sing Down The Moon". The problem is that that the Long Knives (White Soldiers) are the rivals of Bright Morning's tribe. It relates to the time period because the Navaho Indians are against the white people, which would only happen in that period because now we all get along. One of the themes in "Sing Down The Moon" are the challenges of being a Navaho Indian. The author develops that theme because she shows that the tribe face problems like being captured by Slave Catchers, running away since the Long Knives were destroying their homes, and being held captive and made to work, which all lays in the problem being a Navaho Indian and living in that time period.
ReplyDeleteIn the book I'm reading, Sara Pale and Tall the problem is that these kids mother died and the father doesn't feel complete. I know this because in the text it said the father made a note saying who wants to marry me, this shows that the father doesn't feel complete. I also know this because in a text it said the father doesn't sing to them no more he says to them without your mother I don't remember the songs. Without your mother I don't feel happy. This shows that in a time period it shows that being a single man is hard. My last and final evidence is that when the father gets home from a rainy storm he tell the kids I don't know how I'm gonna take care of you without your mother. How this problem is connected to my historical fiction story, there is a father who is single who fights in the war and can't take care of his children. It also says in a text, when the father had to leave the children had to go to another place, if they had their mother they wouldn't have to go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe book All of A Kind Family has multiple family problems. These problems are part of the children's growth. The author devolps the problem by having muliple problems that the family has chapter by chapter. One example is in the first chapter Sarah loses her library book and try to find a way to pay the money. In the second chapter all the girls don't want to do their chores but the mother makes the chores fun. In the end the has a baby that is going to be a boy. All the girls think boys are different in a way so they hope it a girl when it turned out to be a boy. That is how I know family problems is a theme in the book.
ReplyDeleteA theme in my historical fiction book is love. One example is Ella loved Charlie and she was very sad when she found out he had a "sweet heart". Another example is Charlie loved the family and used a lot of money for them . The main problem is good for its time period because the problem is family members growing and they grew up differently because they grew up in 1912.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem in my story "Sing Down The Moon" relates to the time period because there was a conflict going on between the Navaho Indians and the Long Knifes. For example in the book it said "we promised to keep peace with the Long Knifes and now they are back". One theme in my historical fiction book is never give up. The author developed this theme because in the beginning Bright Morning never gave up on her sheep but in the end this theme got more important to the story because Bright Morning and Tall Boy run away from the place where the Long Knifes have taken them.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is Shooting Star and the main problem relates to the time period because Annie had to go to the infirmary because they were too poor and nowadays we don't really do that. A theme in Shooting Star is confidence. The author develops this theme because through the book Annie gets more and more confident and wins more shooting competitions and at the end Annie becomes super famous.
ReplyDeleteThe historical book that I'm reading "The cabin Faced West" is about how this girl named Ann is all lonley and poor. This main problem effect's the time period in my story because in my story the main character has peer pressure and she does something really bad.The way the author had set up the problem is he always put Ann either cleaning or sitting by herself. In my story it says she had a dairy.
ReplyDeleteIn the historical fiction book A Shooting Star about Annie Oakley the problem that has to do with the time period is... well they did not have as much medicine and and better medicine as we do today. That is why three of Annie's family members died. Her father, her step father and her sister. Another problem is that it is hard for Annie and her family to find food. That is because back then it was less crowded and where Annie lived there were barely anyone around and she had to drive a distance to get into town. There were not any close places where she could get food. So they had to hunt which made it harder. But they were lucky the family had Annie who was a great sharpshooter and hunter. A theme in the story is being brave. I know this because Annie had three family deaths in her life and she was brave. Even though she had to experience all that and go through tough times like being poor she still followed her dreams and became the best sharpshooter in the world! And I believe that Annie has a lot of courage.
ReplyDeleteThe story I am reading is called A Shooting Star and the problem is that Annie is stuck at an infirmary and she is poor and she was also stuck at a horrible family that abuses and enslaves kids. The problem in the story relates to the time period because nobody sends there child to anywhere if they need room in there family also infirmaries don’t exist now and it is illegal to beat people and make them do slavery. A theme in this story is toughness I know this because Annie was tough because she never cried and was a good shooter and her mom was a quacker. Also she had to be tough because she was being beaten and bullied. {} {}

My historical fiction book is "The Cabin Faced West". One theme in my book is lonely and poor. The main problem effects the time period by Ann the main character having a cabin and her parents leaving her alone and make her work by here self. The problem also effects the time period by all the woman working and cooking themselves. So the theme is living alone and being poor. The character developes by a guy named Mr. Scott and he usually helps Ann by starting the fire for her. That's is how I know the character developed.
ReplyDeleteThe problem in the historical book “A Shooting Star” is that the main character Annie had child hood problems because her father died from a terrible cold the mother re-married and that husband died 3 months later. Later her sister Mary Jane died. then she was sent to an infirmary and then got sent to ab abusive family that she addressed as “The Wolves.” Annie had been mistreated by them. Annie also experiences men being sexist towards her. For example she was trying to sell “Game Birds.” when she said that she shot them and man laughed at her and didn’t believe that she had shot all the birds. She had also been bullied by a girl named emplane sue. she went around chanting “Moses Poses, Moses Poses no one knows where she gets her clothes. This has also showed bullying and mistreatment.
ReplyDeleteMy book was called the Civil War and it was about these two characters named Tom and Jack. The story took place in the late 1800s. This was right before the civil war. Tom and Jack were brothers and their family owned slaves. One of the slaves name was Aaron he was like a brother to them. One day the father decided to sell Aaron which made Tom and Jack upset. A theme in the story was sacrifice. Both Tom and Jack were willing to give up their birthday to go look for Aaron. The story skips through certain years and tells what happen in future with the two brothers.
ReplyDeleten my book “A Shooting Star” the main problem is poverty, this relates to the time period because jobs didn't pay very much and there was not a lot of money to go around so not a lot of people have enough to eat or money for luxuries or even necessary items. Also the mother Susan said her children away to the neighbors and to the infirmary couldn't feed or take care of them anymore. One theme in historical fiction book is bullying. The author develops this when Annie went to the infirmary she got bullied by Emmaline Sue Smathers who called her Moses poses and made a mean rhyme and called her names. Another example is Mr. and Mrs. Wolf who made her eat there leftovers and called her lummox and accused her of things that she didn't do.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems in my historical fiction book is that the children get yellow fever. This relates to the time period because during the time period they didn't have any medicine for yellow fever. Because in my historical fiction book the characters get better by laying in bed all day.
ReplyDeleteOne of the themes was sister's going through problems and solving them together. I know this because when Sarah, one of the sisters, lost her library book all of the sisters chipped in to pay for it. This shows teamwork.
The book I am reading is "Civil War". Basically it's about two brothers (Tom and Jack) who just turned 9 years old. Tom notices that Aaron is gone who is technically a slave but Tom thinks of him as a brother. Aaron went to the Quarter to get sold. The problem of the story is slavery and it relates to the time period because in 1852 slavery was going on but after the Civil War happened and the North won it was the end of slavery.
ReplyDeleteOne theme in the book is that Aaron thinks that Blacks and Whites are equal. But Tom's father disagrees with him and he puts slaves in his pocket (also known as he sells slaves and puts the money he gains in his pocket). And when Jack was young, Aaron, Tom and him went to a stream to go fishing and Jack fell in the stream and he almost fell off a waterfall but luckily Aaron grabbed his arm just in time and saved him. But Jack disagreed with this memory and he thought that Aaron could not have saved him because he thinks Blacks are useless. But Aaron saving Jack is really what happened. This is why the theme of the book is about people disagreeing about Blacks and Whites being equal.
I meant to say
ReplyDeleteThe main problem in the historical fiction book "A Ballad Of The Civil War"relates to the time period of the Civil War because in the book two twin brothers Tom and Jack have a friend named Aaron who gets send to the quarter to be a slave.
ReplyDeleteOne theme is always be patient because Tom, one of the boys, wants to free Aaron and he wants to do it right this instant. Tom kept saying "I'm going to fetch Aaron and I'm going do it RIGHT NOW" and Tom is the only person that cares about Aaron. The author develops that theme because it shows multiple examples of how Tom really wants to get Aaron free. For example in the second or third chapter the author talks about how Aaron is like a brother to Tom and Jack well at least he used to jack because jack doesn't care about Aaron.
The mother use to like to sing and the uncle use to sing with her. The mother died and now the father is having a hard time dealing with it.
ReplyDeleteThe book I’m reading is called “Sing Down the Moon” and it takes place in the 1860’s. The problem is that Navaho tribes are being led to Fort Sumner by people they call Long Knives. The Long Knives are white people. The problem relates to the time period because at that time Native Americans were thought of as inferior. The Long Knives threatened to burn down their village. The main character, named Bright Morning is treated the same way as all the other Navahos, given scraps of food, just enough to survive. They were forced to march and they call that the Long Walk.
ReplyDeleteMy historical fiction book was called "Sing Down The Moon". The main problemis being a Navaho indian, because the main character, Bright Morning, was kidnapped theen she and all Navaho indians were kidnapped by these white soliders called The Long Knives. This problem relates to the time period because at the time some people did not really like Native Americans, but now it is a different time and everyone is together and not really like that anymore. One theme in "Sing Down The Moon" is again being a Navaho indian. The author develops this theme because like I said Bright Morning was kidnapped as a slave then when she escaped and got back home along came The Long Knives and they threatened to burn her village so they left. Then the Long came to her village when they were hiding from the Long Knives and burnt her village and stole their food then made them walk for hundreds of miles.
