This first stanza means to me Martin Luther King jr understood everyone is equal. I know this because in the poem said sturdy grace brotherhood. This second stanza mean to me the girl and boy need to be the same. I know this because Martin luther king jr said gently bless girl and boy. This third stanza mean to me that black people and white people need to stay together. Martin luther king jr said we cannot walk alone. This fourth stanza mean to me everybody have freedom. I know this because Martin luther king jr said freedom ring.
ReplyDeleteI think the first stanza in the poem Martin Luther king Jr means he under stood that everyone should be together and that brotherhood is graceful. In the poem she said "he under stood the sturdy grace of brotherhood". I think the second stanza of the poem Martin Luther King Jr means joy should be for all.It says "that simple joy would bless each girl and boy".I think the third stanza in the poem Martin Luther King Jr means work together, don't live your life by yourself.I know because it says " We cannot walk alone".I think the fourth stanza in the poem Marten Luther King Jr means that everyone can stand out and freedom should be everywhere .I know because it says "let freedom ring".It also said" all hearts can sing".
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Gideon.
DeleteI think the message Eileen Spinelli is trying to tell us in the first stanza of the poem is that everybody is equal. In the text it says, "He understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood" That word botherhood shows equalty. I think the message in the second stanza of the poem is everybody nobody no matter if your a girl or a boy should have the same rights. In the text it says, "gently bless each girl and boy" I think the message of the third stanza of the poem is no matter what skin color you have or what gender you are you should always stick together. In the text it says, "Join hands"
ReplyDelete"we cannot walk alone"
I think the message of the fourth stanza is everybody should have freedom and all dreams can come true. In the text it says, "All dreams can sing;
"This is our hope...
let freedom ring."
What this poem means to me is that everybody is equal and nobody should ever be treated differently.
In the first stanza the author meant that he understood the importance of brotherhood and being together no matter what race, religion or gender I think that the author meant the beloved community that doctor king wanted to build.i think in the second stanza the author means that doctor king had a lot of compassion but most importantly that everybody should be able to have joy in there everyday life not be depressed because a tyrant or a group of angry and hating people are keeping you from living to your life's full potential.i think the third stanza means that you can not hate a group of people your whole life you have also become there (or try to) become their friend I also think it means that you should not live your life grumpy and lonely you should get to know people become friends play or talk with people it is one way of having fun and also living to your life's potential.i think that the fourth stanza means that that Martin Luther king is try to tell our to stand up if we see that something that is wrong you should stand up for what is right
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Max
DeleteI agree because it is true you SHOULD stand up for what is right or else everybody would be doing wrong things without realizing it!
DeleteSTANZA 1
ReplyDeleteI think it meant that he understood care and peace.
STANZA 2
I think in this stanza, his personality and what he believed inspired boys and girls around the world.
STANZA 3
I think he means that he can’t do this alone and that is why the picture shows all the people who helped him out on the march and who he believes in and he is the one they believe in.
STANZA 4
I think this represents that he didn’t care about the color of their skin; he cared about what their personality was like and he wanted everyone to have freedom.
The poem described Martin luther king's vision which was that everyone would treat each other eqaully and everyone would get freedom and have a fair life.To me the poem meant that all people can have freedom to do whatever they want as long as what they want is not violent or mean.
ReplyDeleteI think the first stanza meant Martin Luther King knew it would not easy at all stopping segregation. I think the second stanza meant he believed taking actions peacefully could stop segregation and let every kid of all colors and genders be together. I think the third stanza meant that people must get together and work together to stop segregation. I think it also shows the walk the people did in Washington. I think the fourth stanza meant everyone must protest peacefully without harm and they could finally stop segregation and everyone could be free. Also, all the stanzas remind me of the steps to peacefully stop problems.

ReplyDeleteIn the first stanza,I think he author was trying to tell the reader Dr.King was a passionate, courageous, wonderful man. I know this because in the poem the author said"He understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood." Brotherhood is agape, which means brotherly love. This shows King was passionate. Also, she said he had a dream which we know he carried out later, which he was very brave for doing. In the second stanza, I think the author was saying he was a considerate person. My evidence is that she said "He had a dream-that simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy." This shows he was considerate. I think the third stanza shows that he was good at cooperation. I know this because the author said that Dr.King had said "Join hands. We cannot walk alone." This shows he was good at cooperation. The fourth stanza shows he believed in equality. I know this because he said "This is our hope...let freedom ring."
ReplyDeleteSTANZA #1 Means : He had a dream that people would love and agape each other as much as possible. STANZA #2 Means : he wanted each girl and boy to be blessed with a normal life not a mean one in segregation . STANZA #3 Means : you can't just think that you always have to be alone there are just times when you can't walk alone. STANZA #4 Means : we are free to be who we are and let our free selfs ring . :)
ReplyDeleteStanza 1,I think means MLK he understood companionship and caring for others.I think that because MLK is a person who leads and teaches people to not give up and take action peacefully.Stanza 2,I think means white and black boys and girls become friends, play together, and have fun.Stanza 3,I think means to work together and a lot of good things could happen.Stanza 4,I think means that always be committed to having peace and love.never use violent words or have violent actions.being violent will make the problem worse.Being positive and peaceful will make a better world.
ReplyDeleteI think the message that Eileen Spinelli is trying to tell you in the first stanza is that Martin Luther King understood that brotherhood is graceful and that everyone should be together. Because in the poem it says ''he understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood (first stanza). Martin Luther King dreamed that joy should bless black and white people. In the text it says ''that simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy'' (second stanza). Martin Luther King wanted to share that even if you are black or white you should always stick together and walk hand in hand (third stanza). The message is where it says ''let freedom ring'' that means that freedom is everywhere (fourth stanza).
ReplyDeleteAlso,I think the fourth stanza means he had a dream that everybody belived in, and that dream was to let freedom ring every where.
DeleteSTANZA 1- I think he understood how brotherhood can change who you are, change your perspective and thinking. I know this because it said that he understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood.
ReplyDeleteSTANZA 2- He wanted each girl and boy to be blessed with goodness. I know this because it said in the poem it says "he had a dream that simple joy ( meaning happiness) would bless each girl and boy".
STANZA 3- He was trying to say that you are never alone and we have to stay committed together. We cannot accomplish this alone. The last sentence was "we cannot walk alone".
STANZA 4- He wanted freedom instead of segregation. The last sentence was "this is our hope... let freedom ring".
This poem about MLK means to me that in the first stanza the writer talks about how MLK has love for others so it makes me feel he can love when you do something wrong he is expecting. I think in the second stanza they talk about how he takes action peacefully on I have a Dream speech l feel he cared about blacks enough to take action so he is responsible to me. In stanza three MLK says how we should all be one community so it feels like l am safe. In the last stanza he speaks his mind so he's not afraid of what happens as long as we get are rights!
ReplyDeleteWell I think that the poem means that MLK
ReplyDeletejust wants peace and NO MORE KILLING,NO MORE SEGREGATOIN,HE WANTED EQUAL RIGHTS and NO MORE RACISM.All what MLK was trying to say he wants everyone to have FREEDOM He wants people to all
get along with each other.MLK THANK YOU FOR FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.
.
I think the first stanza means that MLK understands how to love everybody. I think the second stanza means that MLK wanted everybody to have joy. I think the 3rd stanza means that MLK's words are very powerful. I think the forth stanza means that MLK wants everyone to be together.
ReplyDeleteI think the first stanza means that MLK understands how to love everybody. I think the second stanza means that MLK wanted everybody to have joy. I think the 3rd stanza means that MLK's words are very powerful. I think the forth stanza means that MLK wants everyone to be together.
ReplyDeleteOops, sorry for putting 2 up!!! :(
ReplyDeleteIn the 1st stanza MLK means he has a dream and that he understands brotherhood and friendship.
ReplyDeleteIn the 2nd stanza MLK means he has a dream that boys and girls will be together and happy. There will be no sexism.
In the 3rd stanza MLK means not just black and whites come together but also our differences and minds. All good minds think alike. We need to all join hands no matter what race, gender or culture.
In the 4th stanza MLK means everyone has a voice and you should listen to what they have to say because it could be important. And what MLK means by "let freedom ring", is let freedom go on for everyone. When a bell rings and it goes on for a pretty long time. Well that's what he means.
I think the first stanza means Martin Luther king understands the work of brotherly love, and would not give up about what he was fighting for.
ReplyDeleteI think Martin Luther King was saying in the second stanza is he can't stand people being judged by the color of their skin, instead he will be judge his authentic self.
I think that in the third stanza they talk about the March on Washington and there is a old african saying if you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go slow go together.
I think the last stanza of the poem means freedom and strength because it says let freedom ring and this shows that when people goin together there's nothing that we can't acomplish.
personally this poem teaches me about strength I know because in the poem it says "join hands we cannot walk alone"
I think this poem means that everybody should love each other and be together. The message in this poem is that no matter what your skin color is you can be friends with everyone. I know this because in the last stanza it says " This is our hope let freedom ring" I think it means that black and white can be together.
ReplyDeleteI think the message in the first stanza of Eileen Spinelli’s poem, is like Martin Luther King Jr. had a vision of brotherhood which was working together in unity. I know that because she says: “The sturdy grace of brotherhood”.
ReplyDeleteThe second part means that all kids, black or white will be happy and everybody will enjoy being together. “Simple joy will bless each girl and boy”.
The 3rd stanza means that we will be sharing his idea and that we have to do it together. “He shared his dream… Join hands”.
The last part means that they could finally be free. “Let freedom ring”.
In the first stanza when MLK Jr.said he understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood, he meant he knew how to take care of all people.
ReplyDeleteIn the second stanza where he said He had a dream that simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy, he meant that he would do something so good for society that everyone would be happy.
In the third stanza he said "Join hands." "we cannot walk alone." I think he meant to do something good, you have to stand with others. I guess two heads are better than
one.
In the fourth stanza,he said " This is our hope, let freedom ring. I think he meant let freedom build change.
I think that the message in this poem about MLK, is that we should work together and to be agape. My evidence for this is in the first stanza when it says “He understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood.”Also in the second stanza it said “Join hands.” (for) “We cannot walk alone.”
