  1. women can save people too. Girls were not allowed to do things that boys do. U.S.A beat the British. in the old day it was not clean. George Washington became president.

back then they didn't have a lot of furniture. we have phone and tv and ipads now, and the buildings are bigger now. George Washington didn't get hurt a lot in the revolutionary war because he knows how the British people kill U.S.A.

  2. I learned that in Fraunces Tavern people live very differently in the revolutionary war than today. In the revolutionary war, America was being ruled by the British and if you talked bad about the government and the rulers, you would be executed. Now you can say basically anything you want about the government and the rulers and nothing happens to you. I also learned that people used mostly shotguns and muskets in the war. Right now, people use machine guns and sniper rifles. Plus the clothing was very different and the accents. People spoke in more formal ways than how we speak now like they used "thy" and "tis". Also, you wore more of a uniform dress and top hats and you mostly wore boots, not sneakers or shoes.

  6. Five facts I learned were that they put sugar into cones, they drank fruit punch in a bowl and pass it around the table to drink(very unsanitary),and they smoke from the same pipe! More facts I learned are that the British originally ruled New York, and that people did not live in the Queen's Head because it was dirty.
Life is different because back then we drank fruit punch from a bowl and passed it around, but now we drink in separate cups. Back then they used to get sugar by pulling it out of a cone, but now we just shake sugar from a can. Back then they used to say we had 13 states but now we know we have 50.
A question I have is how did they eat and drink and use the bathroom during the war? They could last without the food and water for 3 days, but how did they use the bathrooms?

  8. Somethings I learned from the QUEENS HEAD, (FRANCES TAVERN MUSEUM), are...
During that time, The Revolutionary War, they didn't have a stove to heat their juices. They had to use a long metal stick. They would put the stick in to the fire to get it warm then they would stick it in their juice and it became warm. Another thing i learned is... There was this girl, (i forgot her name), she was forced to move out of her house so the men could use it as a meeting place. She refused to move out and she just let them have the living room. One day they told her to make sure everybody was asleep. Everybody was but on the other hand she wasn't. She eavesdropped and over heard their plan. They were trying to attack another army of men. She went to those men and told them they attacked the bad guys and were safe. Another thing i leaned is.. A lot of people couldn't read that's why they didn't have numbers on a lot of things. Another thing i learned is... The Revolutionary War started because The British wanted to rule the United States but the 13 Colonies didn't want to let that happen, so a war began. The First shots started on April 17th 1775.

Today life is different compared to life in New York during The Revolutionary War they said things like 'Thee' and 'Tis'. Life is also different because they hung and killed whoever was disrespectful to the king they don't do that now. Another reason why is we don't even have a king! Another reason why is now we can read. Another reason why life is different is because now United States is nit under anybody's hands, it's it's own self. One last thing is now we can talk things out and not have to start a war... maybe

Some questions i have about The Revolutionary War are... Why did one of George Washington's body guard want to kill him? Was he just pretending to be on his side? How would the world be now if the Revolutionary War never happened?

  10. Five things that I learned from the Frances Tavern Museum are: Samuel Frances did not wash his pipes, he let people drink fruit punch from the same bowl, it was really cold in the place where they ate so they had to get coal from the fireplace, the plates were made out of lead and their clothes were different.

Life today is different than life during the Revolutionary War because to them it seemed like war was everyday so they were scared.

Some questions that I have are: #1. did they have hospitals for the people who were hurt during the war? #2. Why did they put powder in their hair?

  12. 5 facts I learned when I went to francis Tavern were that sometimes Women would fight during the war. I also learned during the war the British and the Patriots sent around spies to get information. I learned most of the time the Tavern was a place for the Patriots to have a meeting about the war. Also, during the night people had to walk around with lanterns because it was so dark and they had no electricity, and they didn't have water bottles they had kanteens.

A difference in the world from the Revolutionary war and now is during the 1700s if somebody didn't agree with something and then it became something big there would be a war and then another war and then constant wars but now we have judges in the world and we don't just have a war, we decide on the subject and if we should allow it or not. A question I have about the Revolutionary war is why did they have to decide everything with war and death and not words?

  13. Five facts that I have learned from visiting the Fraunces Tavern Museum is that back then people didn't have many materials as now (for cooking). I also learned that back then people had to use a chimney to warm up food. Something else that I have learned is that sometimes when the revolutionary war was going on the father would bring one of the kids, and sometimes the father and the son would never come back. Another thing that I have learned is that almost every men had ruffles on there t-shirt, with a jacket or a sweater. The last thing that I have learned is that back then when people took pictures they didn't have any color, they only were the color gray.

Life is different today then back then when the revolutionary war was going on because now you have a stove to warm up your food faster. And something else that was different back then is that now we have all different kinds of t-shirts, with all different kinds of colors. Life is also different today then back then because today we have books that we use to practice reading and back then the people didn't have any books or they couldn't even read!

Some questions that I have about the revolutionary war is that why do they bring one of the kids (a boy) to the revolutionary war? Another question that I have about the revolutionary war is that weren't the people hungry when they were at the war? Didn't they need water? And how can they stand all of that bloodiness on them?

  14. 1. There was a girl in the war.

    2. Sam was a good cook. And he made good punch.

    3. The Queens Head was made for a big family but they thought it was dirty.

    4. People didn't really care about germs. They drank from the same thing and they used the same pipes without washing them.

    5. There is another room to eat and talk and play games for the more richer people.

Today we have cars not horses. And we don't drink from the same thing. People had trouble solving their problems, so they had war.

I wonder why people couldn't just use their own cups? And I wonder why they wanted their hair to look white? Was it supposed to be fancy?

  15. The five things that I learned today was 1) I learned that Samuel Francis Tavern had a room for the Patriots to have meetings and George Washington attended some times. 2) I also learned that George Washington wore the same uniform every single day. 3)I learned that women helped in the war also. 4)The restaurant that was there since the 1700's is still there and 5)They used gun powder and gun powder holders in their weapons in the army.
Life is different now because of technology. In order to talk to someone we use the phone but back then they sent hand written messages or went to the people's house to tell them.
The question I have is was Samuel Frances black or white?
