Think
about what the poem means to you.
What message was the author trying to tell you in each of the four stanzas
of the poem?
A stanza is a group of lines in a poem.
What does the author mean
when she says “the sturdy grace of brotherhood”?
How do you know?
It mean to me is that we all could all be friend. And all mix color be a community and work together and we all do what we have dream of doing. And it mean the we all have right to be here in America
ReplyDeleteNice work mohamed
DeleteI think the author is trying to tell you that black and white could be together. Also I think it means to be equal and let black people have there freedom. I think the first part means love and be together as brotherhood and I think also in the fist one that MLK had a dream to have no racism and have equality. I think the next part of the poem that MLK believed he could make his dream come true. And if the dream came true he mitt think children will be happy. In the next part I think he means no one should be alone and everybody be together. And when he shared his dream everybody agreed thats why he said “Join hands.” “We can not walk alone.” I think the last paragraph means you can do your rights and let everybody have freedom. i think brotherhood means to be loved and be together.

DeleteThe first stanza meas that MLK understood people and knew what they wanted. The second stanza means MLK wanted to make other people happy. The third stanza means MLK shared his dream and wanted every one to be equal. The fourth stanza means MLK wanted freedom to come to all the bllack people. The sturdy grace of brotherhood means that MLK always understood that more people are better then one. I know this because MLK brought people together to stand up for what is right.

DeleteI think the author is trying to tell you that black and white could be together. In the first stanza means that MLK knows what they want. The second stanza means that MLK wants to make little boys and girls happy. The third stanza means that MLK shard his dreams and his wise words. The fourth stanza means that MLK wanted the black and white to join hands together. What "sturdy grace of brotherhood" means that MLK understand that the brotherhood people should all feel equal. I know this because MLK wants the black people to have the same right as white people. He wants everybody to feel equal and others are not higher than others.
ReplyDeletevery nice work manal
DeleteGood job manal
DeleteThe author tried to tell us in the first stanza that MLK was a nice person who wants all people to be friends. In the 2nd and 3rd stanzas the author tells us that MLK had a dream that all of the children would be happy and be together. In the 4th one the author says that MLK wanted all the people to have the hope of freedom. I think The sturdy grace of brotherhood means he was a nice person who wants to work with all people to make things better. The evidence is in the 3rd stanza when it says join hands we cannot stand alone.
ReplyDeleteI like your work Savannah good job
DeleteI really enjoyed this great job!
DeleteThe first sentence means that MLK really understood things like he understood different people with different races and it means he understood that what other men an women were going through at this time. The second sentence meant that MLK wished that at the time little boys and girls could have a normal life and play and have fun other than having to go through all the violence that was happening at the time and place. The third sentence meant that MLK wanted other people to stand with him about the police men and others hurting any dark skinned people not just black people any other race too. He wanted protest until they stoped doing that to people. I think that the last sentence meant to let people of all color be free and not hurt them and just let them be.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you omolara

DeleteThe author is trying to tell us that MLK is a loving man and that MLK is a man of Harmony. Something else is that his draem is an important dream that we as people need to respect and honor. It is important because MLK said to stop racism and segregation. And today in same parts of the world like the usa people unite together as one
ReplyDeleteI think the author Eileen Spinelli is trying to tell you that MLK Jr. shared his dream with the world and inspired many people to speak up and tell people ''This is wrong!'' I think that when Eileen Spinelli says ''the sturdy grace of brotherhood'' she means we are all brothers and sisters in this world.
ReplyDeletesorry I forgot my name!
ReplyDeleteThe authors message is to show that you could do something to help people every day show that you care just like MLK did he wanted to help the world be a better place because he cared
ReplyDeleteI think the author eileen spinelli is trying to say that MLK share his dream to the world to say that any race should be together and think everyone deserve freedom.what she means by "the sturdy grace of brotherhood" is that we all should be kind and that were all brothers and sister together and get along.

The authors message is that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a good man who brought peace into the world. That he stood for freedom, equality, and rights. The stanza “The sturdy grace of brotherhood” means that MLK wanted people to be together.
ReplyDeleteThe author's message is that if you have a dream, you should go after that dream and work hard until that dream will come true. What she means about brotherhood is that we all stick together like were brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteTo me this poem means that we should love each other and inspire others. I think what the author means in the first stanza is that MLK Jr loved everyone and we should love everyone too. I think what the author means in the second stanza is that joy will always come. It may take awhile but it will come. In the third one I think she is telling us that everybody can help and that all we have to do is inspire others to help. What I think what the author means by "The sturdy grace of brotherhood" is that MLK Jr loved every one. In the fourth stanza I think the author is trying to tell us that Martin Luther King Jr did great things and helped make change and we can do that to if we try. What I think what the author means by "The sturdy grace of brotherhood" is that MLK Jr loved every one. I know this because brothers love each other just like how MLK Jr loved every one.
ReplyDeleteThe poem makes me feel happy and sad. I am happy because White kids and Black Kids can go to school together. I am sad because Martin Luther King was killed because of racism. The message that the author was trying to tell was for Black and White people to have equal rights. What the author meant by “the sturdy grace of brotherhood” is Black people being strong and bonding together. I know this because in the text it said holding hands and not walking alone.

I think that Eileen Spinelli means that MLK aka Martin Luther King Jr. means togetherness and community and key is to get along. Even if you’re different colors, different cultures or speak differently. We all need to be treated equally.
ReplyDeleteIn the first stanza, the author was saying we must be strong for the same purpose. In the second stanza, the author is saying spreading joy to everyone would make everyone happy. In the third stanza, the author is saying we must hold hands and do it together. One person cannot do it alone. In the fourth stanza, the author is saying everyone has a heart and it beats the same way. Therefor everyone should be treated equally.
ReplyDeleteI think the author means when she said, “the sturdy grace of brotherhood”, you must have a strong unity of people that must come together in peace and happiness.
o me the sturdy grace of brotherhood means there is a strong and beautiful bond between everyone. All hearts can sing means there is a beautiful feeling inside of you. This is our hope let freedom ring means we are free to be ourselves. He shared his dream means he told many people about his goal. His wise words shone:” join hands we can not walk alone means you need to help other people and care for each other. That simple joy would gently bless each girl and boy means each boy and girl will be happy for a long time. He had a dream meant he had a goal.To me this poem means there should be equality, love and that we can be a family.
ReplyDeleteThis poem makes me think about how different things were when MLK was alive. While his dream has not yet fully come true, I think that we are lot closer to achieving it because people today try harder to come together.
ReplyDeleteIn the first stanza, the author is trying to tell the reader the MLK believed that we would be strong and beautiful when all people come together as one. In the second stanza, the author is telling us that MLK dreamed of a day when everyone would be happy, no matter what race or gender they are. In the third stanza, the author's message is that one day everyone will have to forget about their differences and love other people for who they are on the inside and not on the outside. In the last stanza, the author is trying to tell the reader that MKL has a dream that one day everyone will have the same opportunities and when that happens we will all be free.
To me, when the author says "the sturdy grace of brotherhood," she means that there is strength and beauty in people working together and being friends with one another.
It means to help people no matter where they're from or what color they are. We all should be together. Everyone deserves freedom. Boys or girls we are all people and we should have each other and if you have a dream follow that dream until It comes true and we are all brothers and sisters. We should stop racism.
ReplyDeleteThis poem means to me that everyone should stick together. The first stanza of the poem means MLK had goals for everyone to be together and that he understood the bond of family. The second stanza means each boy and girl should be happy. The third stanza means we must work together to achieve are goals. The last stanza means freedom to the world. The sturdy grace of brotherhood means the strong family that is the world. I know this because brotherhood means family and MLK loved everyone like a family and sturdy means strong so the sturdy grace of brotherhood.
ReplyDeleteHis dream of what he wanted for the future for all races to work together and help one another and support each other all times.
ReplyDeleteThe message that the author wants to tell you is MLK had a dream that we will all be equal and at the end when it says "Let freedom ring" the author is saying we should all have freedom all around the world. When the author says "the sturdy grace of brotherhood" she means we all fight and support each other. MLK understood the sturdy grace of brotherhood.
